I've replied via private conversation. From looking at raviv's profile, it seems he owns a Plug-in Prius which might not work with the cable I've got...

Received today and will be installing in the next day or so. It did not come directly from the seller, I got it delivered to a friend who forwarded it to me.

There is a grey cable with a plastic connector to a blue wire in addition to the coupler's/bypass plugs. Need to figure it out.

Got mine installed. Works as expected.

Since I got a Type 2, tapping the blue wire was a bit tricky. One AMP Electro-Tap cable connector/splice is provided.

Unlock (key fob/door handle) - mirrors open
Lock (key fob/door handle) - mirrors close

Ready Mode (lock doors) - mirrors stay open
Ready Mode (unlock doors) - mirrors stay open

Seems like that grey wire checks if the blue wire has power (Ready Mode, if car is on) and if it does, keeps mirrors open.

Just plugging it in (dead simple) (thanks pablo), it seems the Type 2 differs from Type 1 with the grey wire by the fact that the mirrors don't open the mirror until you turn the car into ACC mode so the mirrors isn't a visual indication of the car door lock status as it is not exactly works like how Lexus auto fold operates. If there was a switch disabling the additional grey wire, then the mirrors will open and close with the doors unlocked and locked (in that order) like a Lexus auto fold function.

    So in short.
Type 1: Mirror fold/unfold as door is locked/unlocked
Type 2: Mirrors fold/unfold as door is locked/unlocked & in ACC or ON mode

OK, now things are getting a bit weird. The functionality just changed on me and differs from the OP youtube clip but not sure why.

Anyway, this is what happens now.

    Car off:
    - Lock/unlock the doors using the central locking button folds/unfolds the mirror. Mirror fold button is disabled.
    - Locking the door from the outside folds the mirror.
    - If car was locked with the mirror button folded before it was switched off, unlocking it from the outside will not unfold the mirror (makes sense).

    ACC/On:
    - Mirrors unfold when switched to ACC/On mode if mirror fold button is in the open position (remains closed if in closed position). Central locking button only controls doors as per usual.

    Hi

I have a Prius Alpha 2014 G spec - imported from Japan to New Zealand as a second hand import. The G-spec is the model with auto height adjusting headlights, cruise control, headlight washers, fog lights, reversing camera and other minor enhancements which make it one of the top spec models ex Japan and probably compares with the higher spec V and Plus models in other markets. The Japanese models all have electric folding mirrors with electric adjustment. I bought one of these auto fold units from a Japanese web site and fitted it as you have described above. It literally took 5 minutes. This one did not come with an override switch as you described later below. It folds the mirrors when the doors lock, and unfolds them when the Start button is pressed upon re entry to the vehicle. The normal button to fold the mirrors, located on the mirror control switch in the drivers door, also allows folding when driving when necessary.

A nice enhancement. Thanks for your post which alerted me to the existence of such a product.
