My car has had all the tune up stuff done, plugs, air filter, etc.
Hey there is not much , right?
Well it alway starts up perfect.
Except one time, felt like it was was running on less than 4 cylinders.
Yep , you guessed it , we are talking about the ICE.
I'm blushing already anticipating any answers.

Extrapolating any question is contingent on a reason, seems the ice misfired after a tuneup, humans are humans, was a dealer involved, no.
Is there any possibility that the wrong plugs were used, yes.
Is it possible that misconception is occurring, highly likely.

I do pride myself on owning my 2006 Prius .
Some may think I'm ignorant of the car I own.
Well as long as I can do preventative maintenance and keep this car afloat,
I will be listing my car on the 200 mile club in the near future, key words, "I hope"
So what you say all you men who are still great big strong men, you want to make a wager ?
(My wager is my car will not have any huge mechanical issues before 200k.
You might say I feel pretty good about my car. And from what I have read, all being mostly good things, Why Not.)

    Sonny would approve :)

Back to the fuel injectors for the gen 2 cars.
Asuming I'm getting great mileage and one bad start on my car at 150 k.
Also using decent gas. Not opposed to a good injector cleaner.
Maybe someone can share, at what mileage you have replaced all the injectors on their Gen 2 Prius?

Very unlikely you need fuel injectors. I think bisco may have been playing the "high-mileage Cher" thing up rather than being totally serious:D about needing new injectors. There has been a report or two around here of this type of cold-start misfire being related to readying the Prius, deciding you aren't really ready to drive off, and powering it back off just as the ice fires up. Or...readying just long enough to move the car quickly and again, powering off just as the car does it's cold-start, catalytic warming cycle. This leaves the combustion chambers in a "flooded" state, and the next ready makes for a rough start. This could be an actual Prius phenomenon or not (it makes sense in theory) or it could be some sort of random ECU glitch. I'd wait for recurrence before giving it any more thought.

Regarding injectors, Prius really isn't prone to issues and I'd guess you could do double your mileage on the stock set. A bottle of Chevron Techron Fuel System Concentrate is a respected fuel system cleaner and may be a good idea occasionally. Personally, I run a bottle through the last tank of gas before each oil change.

To touch on a point ursle made; if you're getting work done at other than the dealer, be sure parts used (especially electrical) are factory OEM. Toyotas are sensitive to this even though some (and some independent mechanics are guilty, too) say it's baloney. Spark plugs other than Denso SK16R11 or NGK IFR5T11 are generally thought of as a bad idea and a potential (if unlikely) source for electrical issue.

So with a tuneup done, assuming at some point your Prius has seen both coolant loops changed (ice @ 100k, inverter @ every 50k - Toyota Super Long Life coolant for both) and the transaxle fluid changed at least once (Toyota World Standard atf ) you should be in pretty good running order.

    Always liked Cher...

What a excellent reply, this info will be proven to be very valuable to me.
It proves that someone new on here like yourself can provide worthy information.
Seemed to rattled the regulars a bit with my silly challenge .
Sort of proves they want let new people like me joke around or have a say, until I get some tenure in.
    Thanks again Babe .....

So what's the deal with the back up beeping when the car is in reverse?
Is there some sort of benefit from having the obnoxious beeping, I know when I'm in reverse.
Do some of you disconnect it, if so how?
    Thanks
