I see the Clazzio seat covers that many have installed. I want to do it but am wondering about the safety of these seats and airbags.

I did see some youtube video of the airbag deploying thru the covers. Are the covers so tight that the position of the area of the airbag deployment will never move?

    Thanks.

From what I've seen, yes, the covers are pretty tight

But they look like they deploy fine to me

This question or a derivative of it get's asked from time to time.

I have considered Clazzio's...I think they look great.
But full disclosure I don't own Clazzios.

From listening to owners, watching videos, and simple common sense, I think Clazzios are a upper end product as far as quality.

Their whole reputation would hinge on safety. Can you imagine how damaging it would be to their entire business if reports of their product hindering airbag deployment were to surface? So I have to believe this is something they have thought about and tested thoroughly.

I also think they are by design very form fitting.

Some owner responsibility would come into play. In other words, if you somehow noticed your Clazzio's slipping severely, It would be up to you to tighten straps and re-adjust.

But by design, I think they are made to work with airbags....and are designed to stay in place as much as possible.

If I was ready to buy a set? Airbag compatibility would not be an issue that would stop me from purchase.

    thanks for the link :)

I was concerned about the side airbag when using seat covers. And if when I buy I will double chaeck with the manufacturer of the seat cover concerning it's air bag stats.

I have heard the covers reduce the seat heaters efficiency, but I haven't even tired those heaters yet.
