Yes msrp is right around $50k but out the door they are around $33k for Californians.

I was saying it's a cheap tesla because a model s is $100k and the rav ev is more than half the price and uses tesla drivetrain components.

$33k with tax breaks, but don't you need to meet certain requirements to get all rebates?

....I stated somewhere else but don't forget to contact Diane Whitmire on Prius Chat I think she sells the most RAV4 EV of anybody on the planet

As far as incentives, you get the $7500 Federal but I believe NY has no EV credit so you would lose the $2500 CVRP CA credit

Toyota is not allowing any dealer to sell the rav4 EV out of state. I have to buy a used one.

What kinds of real world mileage are people seeing with these?

Wow, that's pretty incredible. I wish I had known the range was that good, I would have reconsidered getting a PiP for my 90 mile work commute (too late now with 14k miles on my 2014). Have there been any reports of capacity loss thus far?

Battery degradation is very minimal. I think one expert said he saw 8% at 40,000 miles. I know he predicted he would have 70% remaining at 100,000 miles. Thats pretty awesome! I think Tesla really did a great job with these batteries.

I over looked it in favor of the PIP initial based on price. However there are a few on the used market now for $31,000 - $36,000. Thats much easier to swallow than $50,0oo

I don't think the regular RAV4 was available in that colour. I believe you're thinking of Pacific Blue?

Check on the Highlander stock of shark fin antennas. If the base is the same, that might work as Shoreline Blue is offered on the Highlanders.

There was no stoppage. RAV4 was never sold outside California (except maybe Oregon, but not sure about that).

...hmm somebody back me up here!... I seem to recall there was a preriod when Dianne was actively leasing to out of staters (the interest was coming from CO, WA, NJ mainly the states with large state EV inccentives).

Yes, for a while she was allowed to sell them directly to people out of state. But Toyota found out that most of their California compliance cars were not staying in California and they put the brakes on it. Any Rav Ev sold new out of state cost Toyota tens of thousands of dollars.
They build it so they could get carb credits in California and they were pissed when they found out they missed out on those credits for the x amount of cars sold out of state.

Ah, ok, that makes sense. Yeah, officially, Toyota never sold them out of state. As Jimbo mentioned, they were strictly compliance vehicles.

Dianne mentioned in the other thread that cars with VINs ending in 300 are getting on the boats now, so that would imply about 300 cars that were built but not sold in California. Looks like there isn't much time left to buy this car if you want it.

I suppose there was a small chance that out of state buyers could come from a carb state and possibly that would still allow them to garner the credits?
