    I'm probably stating the obvious, but....

    Assuming you're on holiday, don't miss the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor. It's one of the best museums I've ever been to.

    We'll try to visit there tomorrow. I thought Under Siege was a destroyer. I saw Battleship, and it was awesome in that one.

    Under Siege was set on the USS Missouri (BB63), although most of the sequences were shot on the USS Alabama (BB60)
    Alabama is actually the last of a preceding class of "fast battleships" (North Dakota class) and the Missouri is an Iowa-class battleship, but you'd have to be kinda geeky to pick out the differences, and I'm not sure that Missouri was available at the time for Hollywood duty since she was decommissioned the same year (1992) that the movie came out.

    Under Siege 2 was set aboard a train.

    I've been to the Arizona memorial and heartily recommend it, but I haven't seen the Missouri museum yet.
    It's on the list.

    What I don't understand is how they can decommission the Missouri, but can't decommission Steven Seagal, even though he is far more obsolete.

    So we went to both the Arizona Memorial and the Missouri yesterday, then we decided to try Costco for some more reasonably priced items like water, but they were out. So was the Safeway next door. People are preparing for the storm! (Cue the scary/doomed music!) Just hope it won't affect our flight Saturday.

    Trying to attach a pic I took of the missle launching system that they retrofitted onto the mighty MO:

    Raytheon has an office building off the 105 freeway on the way to the airport back home. When I was studying CECS at USC, I remember a TA saying how excited he was about interviewing with Raytheon, the company that builds the Tomahawk. Pretty impressive autonomous missile....

    The Phalanx system is impressive also. I noted that they only need one on each side of the huge 800+ ft. vessel. (The pic of that must be on our camera. :( )

    Battery on my phone died trying to navigate back to Costco, so I'm afraid that I didn't get any pics of the pool with waterfall and slides....

    I think I messaged you a long long long time ago about going there...

    Then I kind of lost my sanity for a while......

    I felt the weather was better over there this time, cooler, and no hurricane(s), but had more issues with the significant other, that made the trip on the unpleasant side sadly.

    On the upside, (I think), we ended up purchasing a time share from Hilton at the Ocean Tower on the Big Island.

    Traffic was definitely CRAZY around the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki, so much so my wife said she doesn’t want to go back to Oahu...

    Did you come to CA yet? I am so sorry I realized looking at the old signature my phone number has changed since 4 years ago. When I went temporarily insane I stopped answering any phone calls I didn’t recognize and didn’t even check my voicemail. Now we switched from T-Mobile to Sprint and all are forever gone. I think back then I was on Metro PCS and for sure had a different #. I didn’t transfer my contacts well, but now on iOS which made it worse....

    But thanks for recommending Nico’s to us before. It’s still a little hard to find but busy/popular now, and definitely worth it.
