I wish this were true.... Regardless, the number of times that I drive with her in a given month could be counted on one hand, sometimes not at all.

think i can help... I drive 62miles each way but was doing so in a gmc pickup lifted... people gave me the finger, slam brakes, etc.... and i fed into it.. interesting that a huge gmc flying down the highway where they could like my license plate from their seat... that they would toy with me....but i sat back and figured lets slow down life...

I came to the solution that there are these people no matter what you drive, no matter how you drive just plane.. NO MATTER WHAT...

every day I deal with people getting out of the right lane 6 cars behind me (all traveling at 65mph) shooting 3 lanes over to the left.. flooring it passing us all....
for what... to take the exit coming up... WTH!!!!! I dont understand it. I used to get mad and want to just tuck them under my bumper.... now I just sit back and laugh... and wave on.. now doing so from my prius...

I rented and drove around 8 different types of cars prior to settling on the Prius. There was no such behavior out of the other drivers on the road when I drove those previous vehicles, nor with our original 2 cars (both of which were Toyotas). It is just the Prius. Yes, I have driven and accelerated the same way.

A friend at work made a statement that covers it all:
    "I have insurance".
I have noticed that since I haven't been in my Grand Cherokee that people seem to like to tailgate, cut me off or even not let me in. So what-Their Hang up.
I am just watching around me and not getting into pissing games. It makes for a much more fun commute. I love it, getting over 50mpg.

People tailgate me no matter what kind of car I am driving. It is just the mentality of the idiots that are driving nowadays.

If you're sad they say one way to cheer up is to smile. In other words, if you fake a mood, and stick at it, it gradually starts to take hold.

For tailgaters I would try to follow the adage to try to ignore them, stay the course, don't get drawn into games or reaction. At first it took an effort. After a while it became more real. Suprisingly, sometimes I'll look in the rear mirror and there's someone a fair distance back, pacing me. Hey, a trend! ;)

The other evening we were starting to overtake a guy in an adjacent lane, and, purely on a whim I think, he decides to clean his windshield. Only, his washer nozzle aim is completely out to lunch. The right side one (our side) is not even hitting the windshield, just shooting off into space, our space, lol. I hung back 'till he was done.

Be glad the jerks are in front of you now, and not on your back!
Cheer and honk when you see them pulled over!

time is money, i travel as fast as safely possible.

the time i have saved is more valuable to me than the $300 i have paid in tickets/fees, $0 increase to insurance rates.

DEBADGE your car on the back. just use a plastic knife to peel off the PriusC and Hybrid badges off the rear tailgate. it will make the rear seem bigger and handsomer (prettier). if you like, add a "HazMat" sticker for fun,,, nuclear waste or BioHazard might be fun too. then stay out of the left lane in the first place. you are not going to do 85,,,

I've been doing 80 in the rightmost lanes and people still feel the need to show they're faster than me. It's not a pissing match. I drive at whatever speed I feel I can, want, and is safe to drive at, regardless of their presence. I still notice them doing it, and that's all I am pointing out.

well after going on a road trip from LA to Frisco and driving around for a while I can confirm after de-badging the priC I definitely feel it has eliminated "prius-gaiting" which kinda makes me want to put them back on. I find it ridiculous that people were just tailing me because of the name of the car on the back. My biggest issue now with a custom exhaust is people trying to race me not knowing exactly what I'm driving. Lots of special people out on Cali roads.

Well, I'll tell you something. Same on the roads in the Chicago area.
