Sorry, totally off topic, but I can't see a reference to Banff without thinking of this video....

 

I went to the Concourse on Rodeo in Beverly Hills this morning and parked in one of the City lots on Beverly. When I got there all 4 charging spots were available so I grabbed one of the 220V chargers and went off to the event. When I got back about an hour later all four spots were filled. There was a Leaf using the other 220V and a Volt on the other 110V but sad to say there was a Winter Gray PIP parked in the other space but not charging. To be fair the 110V outlets are hidden behind a door on the Chargepoint chargers so the driver my not have realized there was second charger there.

When I backed out to leave there was an ICE that went to park in the spot I had just vacated but one of the parking attendants went over and made him move. At least they were stopping ICEing even if they were allowing Plug-ins to block the chargers.

 

I've rarely seen an EV at a chrging station here in Dublin, always occupied by
ICEs. No signs to say tat space is for EV only, so go figure

Now we no longer have to try to figure out why there are so many foreclosures in this country. These idiots buy everything they can not afford and they do stupid things like this. I have to get up early in the morning on Sunday to put out my garbage cans for Monday pick-up because I have a neighbor like the one who is driving this hummer who has lots of vehicles he can not afford that takes up the entire street.

 

I'm surprised he didn't park lengthwise, so he could take up another spot.

 

There you go. It is a miracle he did not do that.

No, he's just exercising his right to be a twit to EV owners. More political statement than stupidity. Although, I'd opine both in this case.

Anyone ever see all charger spots fulled by the same cars everyday all day?
They don't even bother moving them at lunch time.
There are new signs going up a many local charge stations giving stipulations for using the stations.
So much for the state gov subsidized charger initiative that paid for most of their installation.

 

I carry little stickers I had custom made that say it is an EV only parking space and that it is a ticketable/fineable offence and list the statute along with the info on the $100 fine. I have yet to find an offender grievous enough of having a sticker plastered on their window, but that hummer in the tesla spot might deserve it...

 

I can't take that picture too seriously.

I mean, think what you will about owning and operating a Hummer.

But, I suspect strongly that photo was staged. As in " Wouldn't it be funny to double park The Hummer in the Tesla Charging spots?".

They are trying a little too hard to be obnoxious.

No, they only have a single inlet. Adding the 2nd OBC allows them to draw above 40 amps over J1772 (assuming that EVSE can supply over 40 amps) or via
Shop Tesla Gear — Wall Connector (see http://www.teslamotors.com/sites/default/files/downloads/charging_wall_connector.pdf).

 

Wish securities can slap one of those impossible to remove stickers on those vehicles.
Propose a law where Security of the parking premises are allowed to slap those stickers for violators.

 

Place tow warning sign at all plug-in locations. Tow bill and impoundment fee.
