US electric car, Dutch plates, charging station in Ljubljana, Slovenia, a couple weeks ago.
The next day, a Smart EV was charging in the next space.

I managed to find my way into last night's P85D introduction event at Tesla's Hawthorne, CA design studio.

I ended up riding shotgun on the test ride and, sure, it was a blast! There are 3 driving modes: "normal", "sport", and "insane". The lane change during the autopilot portion was initiated by the driver signaling a lane change but it was otherwise hands-off. Autopilot is now a standard feature for all new Model S cars being made from now on.

The new AWD system is about 4% more efficient on the EPA combined test cycle and is a $4,000 option on the non-performance 60 and 85 kwh cars.

Here's the video I took during the test ride:

Ok - the tesla test ride was way cool. I'll give it a free pass technically as a "sighting"
    :p
I go in to work way early . . . . 5am . . . . so typically there will be mostly empty charge stalls. But when I got off work today ... charging in of our 10 employee stalls ... I couldn't help but notice that I was surrounded by the dang things ~ there everywhere . . . it's getting ridiculous !!

This was a grey one ... and a black one ... tho there's a green one that often parks nearby ... apparently not needing to charge. So - in case you wonder why the disney tickets (my employer) cost so much ... you are obviously paying for someone's Tesla.
    :D

Funny you said that. One of my former boss used to work for Disney in the IT department. Financing usually stalls at paying their vendors/suppliers. So they just charge more whenever Disney buys something from them. This is known practice dealing with Disney.

Did anyone noticed? Tesla again has bump their pricing on the Model S. Even the AWD option price went up.

I guess they can do this as long as they have a waiting list.... Guess the waiting might start to be reduce the more they keep pricing people out.

If you believe the hype, they're pricing in a little less range anxiety.

Reported to be OTA software update, but thought of battery swap stations and apparently ZEV credits.

Actually, I had not, even after looking at the base price.
    Are you sure?

I actually figured the base price had increased now that navigation comes standard.
However, base price is still $69,900, which is the same as it has been afaik.

Regarding the article, I thought CARB removed battery swaps as a way to get additional credits?

CARB already eliminated the credits for battery swaps.

Liked this quote though, “We want to be generous in supporting these technologies, not obscene,” he[Dan Sperling] says.

The base price has not changed too much... It used to be $67,400 when it first came out. But the options are going up quick. The new AWD option was $4000, and it is now $5000. This is not the only time Tesla has made options pricing increases. Stereo upgrade was a big complaint. Their warranty was another.

Yes, adjustments have been made to the price of options. Especially when there are actual changes to the option.
The stereo system was a new system, the warrantee price hasn't changed since I bought my first one 2 1/2 years ago.

Perhaps if another auto company would actually build a comparable car Tesla would feel more price pressure.
As is, IMO, they have been quite fair with any increases. I was rather amazed at the inclusion of navigation and some of the sensors at no cost (others require the tech package)

How is the AWD option changed since it became available 9 months ago to justify 20% cost increase?

I think their marketing team might have seen more people wanting the AWD options so they went ahead and increase the price to make their bottom line look better.
