I just had the water pump replaced in my 2006 Prius, and I went to turn on my heater in the car, and the A/C is permanently switched on. I press the button to switch it off, but it keeps blowing cool air, and it says "air conditioning" on the top left section of the midpanel screen. I can't get warm air and this is really irritating me. How can I get the air conditioning to stop blowing?

What is your temp setting at? It doesn’t blow hot air or let you turn ac of even with max hot?

PS: This should be on Gen II Prius Care, Maintenance and Troubleshooting

What is the current cabin temperature setting at?

When you say "water pump", do you mean the engine coolant pump? If the cabin heat doesn't work that usually means that air was left trapped in the coolant system.

It is necessary for the air to be purged out which requires running the engine at high RPM for 10 minutes or more, while having the heater turned on: temp control at MAX HEAT, fan speed at high. The coolant level in the radiator should be checked (do not rely on just looking at the overflow tank) and it must be full. Use Toyota Super Long Life Coolant if needed.

Return to the dealer or shop that did the work and complain.
