Thanks for just eating up hours of my time :) I haven't stopped browsing through the other stuff on this site since I first saw this link 30 minutes ago!

Largest thing I've put in my Prius was a 42" plasma TV. It just barely fit front to back and was just low enough for the hatch to close.

That's a Yakima Rack (not as easy to set up as you might imagine) and a Yakima Platium Pro cargo box.

When I was almost finished with my six month wait for my Prius I was at a car wash and asked a current owner how she liked her Prius. She said she loved it and even carried a full size kayak inside!!!

Last summer my wife and I took a month long, twelve state vacation and had all our luggage and both of our mountan bikes inside and could see out the back windows with clear view as everything was close to cargo carpet.

One of my primary reasons for buying my Prius was to have a vehicle that could fit 2 adults, a child seat and my 2 60lb Lab mixes. I actually rented a Prius to make sure that I could fit the dogs in the hatch area if necessary. Since there isn't a child seat in our lives yet, the dogs will get the whole back area (minus any luggage space) when we travel.

BTW, Costco recently had a Kirkland Signature dog throw for $16.99. It fits *perfectly* in the Prius with the back seats folded down. It is a little wider than the car so it goes about 6-8 inches up the wall. I consider that a feature to keep the dog hair off the walls.

Eeeek! I'm gonna have to call BS on that one! Unless "full size Kayak" means a river play boat - something just 4' long. The kayaks I use are 14+ feet. That ain't gonna fit in a Prius no matter how hard you push!

    That's cool!

Here's a couple of shots of a fully loaded Prius, hatch open and hatch closed. (Not necessarily in that order.)

I play Bluegrass music with several jam groups and I carry a stand up bass and a guitar around all the time.

I don't have pictures but my husband and I were able to fit a couple fir trees we bought yesterday. One was about 6' and the other was about 4'. If we do this next time, I am going to have to remember to bring string so we could protect the windows from tree sap. We had blankets and a comforter to wrap the trees in but they kept escaping from the blankies. :p

Thanks for the info Cindy. I have two little dogs who love to ride in the car and this will help with the hair problem.

A double bass and a cello, simultaneously. Of course, it turns the Prius into a single-seater. :)

Biggest thing I've carried in the Prius so far was a Little Giant 17' fold-up ladder. Had to fold down the passenger seat, but it fit easily.

I could never have transported anything like this in my last car (a '95 Sentra).. this was actually the first thing I've done with the Prius that I just could not have done with my old car (gas mileage/range aside).

Yes, yes you do! Long live the Dance of the Cucumber! I have had that as my signature for probably about a month. You have been the first one to notice it, so congratulations! I figured it might take awhile, there probably aren't a great deal of Veggie Tales fans on here. Interestingly enough, it only take about a week on another board for someone to mention it.

Guess I'm a little late on this, but wanted to throw in my 2 cents regardless. I bought a ~7'x3' Andersen Storm Door that I fit into my prius. I had to hunch down for the whole 3 mile trip home since the door went over the head rest and ended somewhere near the sun visor, but it was sweet nonetheless.
