    Hi guys
    I have a 2006 prius. Battery packs from written off PIPs are now becoming available. An idea is born...

    Has anyone tried replacing their existing battery with the PIP battery and retrofitting a charger?

    I'm guessing the hardest bits could be getting the pack to physically fit and persuading the interface to the ECU that it has plenty of electric capacity available to use...

    Any ideas?

    A simple way of explaining is this;

    You wouldn't put a large Ford pickup engine in a Ford Fiesta on the assumption that they're both Fords. Same with the Prius and PIP. They look the same but the gubbins is totally different.

    I like the idea, the one that there is NOT new at all; but worth trying it if you have the resources, money and patience. I'm all for it (y)
