It's amazing what "some" DIYrs will do with used motor oil, even today.

You go, Gramps. Same age as my mom who retired at age 80 from her career as a nurse anesthetist.

She grew up during WWII in the Philippines as the oldest girl among 7 kids and took care of them throughout the war and Japanese occupation. Emigrated to the US and became a nurse in the USAF. Among the greatest generation, in my book - although she doesn't change her own oil. She pays the Cadillac dealer to do it.

Just showed my 20 year old sister how to change her oil on her 2005. She did really well and was surprised how easy it was. Took us under 15 mins, and cost us just under $16 dollars. She said she'll do it all by her self next time. (with my supervision of course! )
