Display now shows individual tire pressure?

According to your posts, you also own/owned a 2011 Prius.

Why would you expect this feature?

To be honest with you, with all the feedback The Prius does provide, all the screens and graphs, I can do without knowing the individual PSI of each tire in real time. That actually just seems like overkill or something unnecessary.

 

The information is there. It's a shame they didn't let us see it. So no, there is no way to get it presently. I suppose it's because all we really need to know is we have to add air/check the tyres. Knowing the actual pressure tells us nothing really useful.

Sure it does. It allows you to see a slow leak before it passes the threshold for an alarm.
It also allows you to see that the moron at the tire shop left a 10 PSI difference across the ones that he worked on.

In answer to the original question, I don't think that ANY of the Prius models show each tire.
Nor do most of the cars on the market today, at least not the one's I've looked at.
My '14 Fusion doesn't; my Malibu didn't; my Elantra didn't either.

 

We all have features we'd like to have but probably won't get. I'd like to have sun visors large enough to actually block some sun and a self-setting clock. I can buy a self-setting clock at Wal-Mart for $15; why doesn't my $25,000 car have one?

Because it would raise the MSRP more than that $15 Walmart price. Combine this with a hundred other consumer 'wants' on a similar level, and your $25k car is suddenly a $35k car.

Wait a few years, it will come.

 

Now we are getting into pet peeves. Having visors that do NOT slide out on the shaft so that they are actually usable for the side windows is one of mine too. That little design difference would probably cost them......maybe $1.00 per vehicle to implemant.......or less.
Then there is the lack of a back seat courtesy light in the C.

We'd have to convince Toyota that making all these changes would boost sales to the point where it's worth their while.

 

The screens and graphs? I would not miss the graphs and similar useless stuff. Tire pressure has to be easily in the top three of items to check for Prius gas mileage. Tires are your only contact with the road. Toyota has chosen to put some pretty useless monitors in place that will tell you if a tire is really, really low (close to flat). But if we had each tire showing the actual pressure, we'd be far more alert to an issue.

There's so much nonsense in the displays because it's cheap data. The tire monitoring system could easily be upgraded and integrated into the display, and I say it would be very useful. A friend has a massive Ram truck with that standard. I went to each tire with my gauge, and the display was dead spot on.

 

I'm not discounting the value of keeping your tires inflated to proper PSI and monitoring them regularly. In fact I champion everyone owning a good PSI tire gauge and doing so often. It's a safety issue as well as helping with fuel efficiency.

We do have the TPMS...which is going to alert if you have a massive loss or significant drop, it's just not going to tell you exactly how much air you have in real time. And honestly? Since I do monitor that with my vehicle, I don't think I really need it.

Usually technology moves forward, so my guess is more and more vehicles will offer individual PSI readings in real time for each tire. But for now? I don't expect it from The Prius, as far as I know it's never "yet" been an offered feature. Again...why would you expect it?

 

I don't "expect" it from Toyota. The last several years, I've come to expect more of the same for them, which bodes well for competitors. The TPMS is expensive BS in my opinion. Last time I had one actually work, the tire was at 18 psi. Hardly a miraculous device.

Never said it was a miraculous device. But you have it on all new vehicles whether you want it or not.

The OP seemed to think there might be a "version" of The Prius that offered the individual PSI tire monitoring feature. My statement is simply that it does not exist as a factory option on any Prius as far as I know.

And my opinion is that I personally don't think I need it.

I visually check my tires almost every time I approach my vehicle.
I check the PSI and add or release air at least once a month.

If someday it becomes an available feature? Great. In the meantime...No it doesn't come on a Prius. Don't expect it.

If you think TPMS is expensive BS? Adding individual tire pressure PSI monitoring isn't going to make the whole system cheaper, only more complicated and more expensive.
