If your dball did not have the firmware flashed originally with 3x start it wont. DEI will know since the dball has a manufacture date on the hardware. your best bet is to add an aftermarket remote start with the dball or go with a dball pro/ any unit that is still RSR capable. The other option is to go with another brand like Fortin who still has 3x lock remote start feature. Fortins Evo-all is a few bucks more than the DEI's Dball2 unit. You will also need a flashlink2 (just like the xkloader2) to load firmware.

They are a little over 50 bucks on amazon. Fortin has it at MSRP

That is normal for some Push-To-Start vehicles. There is no "takeover" mode for a remote start in the Prius.

The D2D connection takes care of all power and ground.

can this solution be modified for bluetooth remote start? meaning what would I need so I can start/stop the car using "directed smartStart iphone app" over bluetooth? can I use the Directed DSK100 module (which adds bluetooth interface) to this mix? or is there anything that comes with DBALL that gives us bluetooth/NFC access?

Ok, so my setup has been working very well for a while now. Recently went to use it though and the car just kept turning on, and then would immediately shut itself off and turn itself on again. And then it would keep doing that. With lots of beeping and light blinking.

Anyone else encounter this? I'm confused.

I just got it installed on my 2014 Prius v two wagon. Everything works but the parking light is not on to indicate that the remote start is activated. Is there any extra wiring I need to do?

Got it all installed on my 2015 Two today. It hadn't been tested yet on the 2015, now that we know, the site will be updated to note that the 2015 works with all firmware versions and worked perfect. We will be swapping it out with a 5x10 soon.

    Hi.
I just got mine installed and it worked okay at first. I proceeded to putting everything back together and after that It does not work anymore and the RED LED keeps flashing 7 times. I saw that your box flashed 7 times as well, how did you solve that issue?

    Thanks.

I finally got the dball2 and TLTH2 installed last weekend but ran into big problem. The remote start was working as expected. An hour later, I stopped by my local car shop to borrow the OBD2 reader just to see if anything wrong after the installation. After I connected the OBD2 port, this is where the nightmare starts; the VSC, Break, and ABS light all came up. The reader show ABS malfunction/communication error. I removed the three wires and the T-hardness, the problem persist. I did the road test, the ABS, VSC, and Cruise control are not working now. Anyone has seen this problem? I double and trip check the connector, there isn't any loose wire. Any suggestion what to check and/or what may be the problem?
