Bisco,, I believe that there are different key less devices. The 2010 and 2011 has one kind and the older Prius have a different model. Mine has unlock and lock buttons and a red panic button. It also has a metal key on the side of it. By pressing the side button one can slide it out. This is if you can't get in because of the round buttons inside of the key less device are dead. It also has a Toyota emblem on the other side. By touching this emblem to the start button in your car it should start my car. I never tried to start the car this way because I never experienced dead batteries. The way I open the locked door is to put my hand on the door handle. The way I lock it up is by putting my thumb on on the slots at the front end of the door handle. To do it this way you must have the device in your pocket. When I get inside of my home I sometimes wonder if I locked the car. I didn't realize that you could push the lock button. I thought it was too far away. One day I will try this to see if mine works. When I try to lock up by using the door handle and it beeps like crazy I know I did something wrong. One time, I forgot to shut the car off. Another time the key less device slipped out of my pocket and was on the the floor rug.
