k&n And magnaflow

    I had a car hydrolock before that's why I went with the drop in this time, and I agree feeling like you can accelerate with everyone else makes a difference in the driving experience.

    biggest problem i have with accelerating is the junk integrity tires that break loose easily.

    yup I did upgrade the tires, plus my car is a salvage title so the tires on it were old and cracking and that's also why I have no problem modding it because it was already altered when I got it, I do kinda get not modding a brand new car.

    Its your car to do with as you please! I am personally interested in both of your mods... I saw youtube video where a guy put a magnaflow muffler on his wifes Prius, and I really liked the way it sounded. I havent play with K&N air filters in years, but Im totally down for more acceleration, at the expense of 1mpg or 2.

    The good news is that you won't hurt the car that much unless you go crazy with the oil and FOD out the MAFS...and you could almost make a case that by uncorking the exhaust system at the same time you might allow the engine to inhale and exhale a little more freely.
    Mostly?
    It's engine bay candy unless you give fellow drivers some comic relief by putting the K&N sticker in one of the windows.

    I'm not familiar with the Scion cat-back system, so I'll keep my opinions about any aesthetic value of this system (aural or visual) for the car to myself... :)

    I forgot I had seen that video before, so far the k&n is totally worth it, I've had to reschedule the trip to the mechanic for the muffler due to work and my wife's schedule not lining up and me not wanting to be at the mechanic with our 2 year old.

    mpgs no notice so far, but I did change tires this week too and had the oil changed the week before, performance I have no data but the acceleration and feel are better.

    Unless spending money makes you feel good, I've never seen any evidence that these things give you any benefit.

    Lots of people enjoy the "whoosh" sound a CAI makes when accelerating. Plus are you this mans CFO?? lol.

    true. if it sounds faster, that's still an improvement even if it ain't really faster. sorta like turning the air cleaner lid upside down on the old man's chevy. not only did it sound cool, but it also pissed the old man off when he drove it to work the next morning. double win!!
