125,000 maintenance reccomendations

    Hello, I am taking my 2006 prius in Wed. it has 125,000 miles and I am wondering what you might reccomend done.

    So far I am doing
    Oil filter change
    Break clean and sdjust
    Trans Flush
    Coolant Flush
    Tune Up
    Fule system decarb
    tire rotate and balance

    Have them check the 12 volt battery.

    I just wanted to say that first once.

    But....it probably IS a good idea.

    LOL actually I forgot to mention that failed about 8,000 miles back. The 12V battery is new. Good call that would have been a great check to consider.

    I wonder if you're paying more out of pocket for those services based on what they're labeled/called?

    Trans flush = Transaxle fluid change (no flushing)
    Coolant Flush = Both engine and inverter coolant change (again no flush)
    Tune up = Change spark plugs
    Fuel system decarb = not sure what this does unless you have performance issues. It would be better if you cleaned your throttle body and maf sensor.

    No Air filter changes?
    Brake fluid change?

    D.O. for brake clean and adjust: find out specifically what that entails. For example, are they pulling out the caliper pins and relubing? This doesn't have to be done with every brake inspection, but if it's neglected the pins can dry up and seize, prevent the caliper from shifting laterally, which is not good.

    i would like to know what a tune up entails as well. they probably should clean the throttle body and mad sensor.
