As topic states looking to see if this is even possible and if so best way to trace all parts. Wonder how many are already in the car or at least wired. I know it won't be cheap but the aftermarket systems are pretty ghetto imo. Yeah I know c3 would have had it but my c2 was seriously discounted and I Def would have thrown out the crappy "upgraded" stereo and felt way worse about it then when I ditched the c2 radio.

do you have one door sks or none at all? there is a great thread by someone who added the hatch and passenger door to a one door sks model. was a lift back though. i don't know if it's the same, but he said all the wiring was in there, and he just had to add the antennae's.

Adding an antenna is simple compared to the full oem system. If the op wants a oem system, I think it might be very hard. You have to change the steering lock mechanism, add antennas, door buttons and probably a module or two.

HOWEVER, if you do want to go fully keyless and probably better then the stock system, then check out Welcome to Advanced Keys

I actually have their product at home waiting to be installed. I already installed their push switch and it fits perfectly in the oem location. To make the install even easier for the Advanced Keys product you can buy modules like the EVO-ALL, which reduces the amount of the stock wire you have to splice into.

Yeah that's incredibly ghetto imo. Pulling a card out of my wallet each time to open the car. No thanks.I don't care about the door handle lock buttons just the ability to walk up and unlock the car via touching the handle. And never inserting a key. Push start and go. I could EASILY live with needing to hit the lock button when walking away after parking the car.

It would be ghetto if you had to do that BUT you dont! The antennas, if placed correctly, will read the card from your wallet in your pocket! Watch some youtube videos on it

When their website shows the card in your hand placed up against the windsheild I'm going to lean to that vs lucky folks on youtube. They imo would showcase their product in the best way not the worse. Hmmmm

Hey, if you dont believe me then its ok. I have used the system personally. They also have a backup key card which only works when next to the antenna. Watch the videos on their website and you will see. Trust me, this is one of the best keyless systems out there. I have used the system in real life and it works flawlessly. No need to remove anything from your pocket.

Also don't like that the car automatically unlocked without touching the car. Hmm. Shall have to look more into it I guess

The system has settings you can change. I dont remember the exact ones but I recall being able to set a setting for something related to accidentally unlocking. It had something to do with the car unlocking and then locking itself if nobody entered within a few seconds. Or something along those lines. This system has been popular for a long time now but is not known by many. My friend has it in his lexus gs300 for 4 years now and not one problem. He literally never takes the key out the wallet.

So with the push button kit i'm going to guess that you need to remove the steering lock somehow?

There are two ways to deal with the steering lock problem that were recommened by Advanced Keys to me.
    1. Cut the wires going to the key cylinder and leave a cut key in the cylinder in the ACC position. This will allow you to keep everything stock looking if you wanted to revert back to stock. They provide a black key hole cover that will fit right over the key cylinder.

    2. Remove the steering lock completely but it makes it harder to revert back to stock.

But in both options, you would not have a steering lock anymore. In the OEM system, the steering lock is still there but activated with the smart key.

Wonder if there's a way to get that oem steering lock. Here's another question. Would the original key and ignition still work in case of a failure with the kit? Hrmmm not looking to cut too much, splice or ANOTHER question. This company seems legit why no vehicle specific wiring harness adapters?

Im sure you can buy the OEM steering lock from a dealer or something, but it would be hard to get it to work or buy all the proper modules to make it work.

If you follow option 1, you simply have to cut one wire from the key cylinder; the ACC wire. By cutting the ACC wire, you can leave a cut key in the cylinder and that will avoid the steering lock problem. If the system ever fails! all you have to do is disconnect the brain (the Advanced keys module) and then turn the key into the on position.

Im not sure the reason for no specific wiring harnesses but Im sure if they do make the harnesses ever, they will most likely increase their sales.

I completely forgot a very important detail! Advanced keys offers 2 types of system; one with a push button and one with a key cylinder cap. The push button system is the best for the C since it fits right into the oem button location but the system with the key cap is easier to install since you do not have to mess around with the steering lock! All the functions of the push button system are still in the key cap system. The key cap system is also much cheaper. So if you have another car and want to upgrade it, you can buy the key cap system for easier install. In the C I would do the extra work and install the push button switch.

I also believe that the Advanced Keys system accepts all the OEM Toyota push switches in case you want to get the cool Blue switch from toyota.

Cool blue switch? Nah. Very interesting. Still debating on what to do here. Wish it was an easy oem to oem addition but I'm near certain it isnt.

By cool blue switch I mean the stock power switch for the toyota hybrids. The switch that comes with the Advanced Keys system is the standard switch that comes in the gas cars and says "engine on" where as the stock hybrid switch is blue and just says power.

Honestly, I dont even think it will be possible to install the OEM keyless system because you essentially have to change out your ECU, get the steering wheel lock, placement of antennas, engine immobilizer, making the dash lights work, and installing the door switches. Just trying to gather the OEM parts will be a hassle. The advanced keys system is basically ready to wire in. Nobody will know the difference and it will work the same, but in my opinion better, than the stock system.

Minus having no steering wheel lock. And not being toyota oe quality. I'll probably go that way but my god do I want the oem solution.
