Went to my local dealer to ask for parts, electrical diagrams and repair service manuals for a 2014 Prius V. The parts counter person directed me to Helm's website which only had the owner's manual stuff. I know where to find the exploded parts diagrams on-line, but they don't go into the detail that I want. Where can go to get the manuals I need?

I'll be after these eventually too. I assume you've tried Gregory's and Hayne's

Haynes/Chilton is junk compared to the Toyota manual. Not familiar w/ Gregory's.

For the official Toyota service/repair manuals (engine, mechanical, interior, exterior, electrical, essentially EVERYTHING), go to TIS
Two days will cost you $15. Supposedly only business days are counted (remember reading this in other threads). If you start on a Friday 12:00:00 AM, you have until Monday 11:59:59 PM, to finish.

Supposedly PDFs no longer available from TIS. Another Prius Chat member discovered how to make a CHM file into a PDF. Toyota TIS download tips | PriusChat
This user downloaded both his Toyota cars over the course of his 2 business day subscription.

    Good luck.

    EDIT:
Internet search "CHM to PDF." There appears to be all kinds of software (some free, some purchase) that will accomplish this. Be weary of free as it could contain malware.

I realise they're crap in comparison but $40AUD will get you through 90% of your everyday serving and contain all the torque specs etc. A bit of mechanical aptitude is required of course. Only on rare occasions have I had to ask a mechanic friend for some guidance.

Until an "unauthorized" version hits the Web (oh...it's coming), I think exstudent's solution is the only complete option at this time. The Gen I - Gen III is already out there...opps. ;)

In the more than three years of my Prius"v" ownership, I have read and downloaded and saved almost every *.pdf posted by others on PriusChat on the Gen III Prius.

The "v" is a Gen III with some variations.

While the official; documentation is helpful, nothing beats actual photos of the car and parts "in situ." I grab and save any good photo posted by PriusChat users.

Torque specs are NOT that important. Toyota generally uses J.I.S. or Japan Industrial Standard torque specs. M6x1.0, M8x1.25. M10x1.25, and M12x1.25 make up nearly every fastener on the car.

Starting about six months, ago, the Trademotion software that dealers use to sell OE parts on line outside of Toyota's own NOW lists part numbers.

    Check the listing out at;

Camelback Toyota Parts - Genuine OEM Parts - Free Shipping

I've also gleamed a lot of information from catalogue and eBay listings. However, a lot of it might be wrong.

Not tryin to be the Quoted Rude person, just a heads up about why you might not get a post from Mike or any of the others in this thread, since I haven't seen any of them posting here for more than a year. And Mikes last post was in April 6 years ago, if I searched correctly.

The best option posted by exstudent back than is still the best option today except it's $5 more now.
    ;)
