I have a 2004 Gen II prius and was told you can buy generic switch and hook up to circut board behind glove box and have an eco button like the gen III prius. Any suggestions on how to do this and where I can get the switch?

Thanks for replying, after watching the video, it seems that you are right, it shows how to put into electric mode only, at least up to 34 mph. maybe that's what my friend, (who has a 2006 prius, also gen II) meant instead of eco mode, it would make sense that way because gen II didn't come with that option to have the eco mode. Do you have access to a DIY video on where to install this switch that this video showed? I would like to try this as well, thanks, Kev56

Only use for EV is to stop engine from starting for shot time when it’s not actually needed. So basically if you’re moving the Prius for only short distance. Or you’re parking it on a hill. Or similar. Other times EV-mode will increase your fuel consumption.
