and firstly apologies for posting this topic which has been posted many times already but some of the responses I've struggled to digest as they're slightly too technical for me (ie. testing batteries etc) or I've not been able to find an exactly same scenario.

I have a 2007 Prius and warning lights started appearing consistently since two days ago. The waning lights below appear only when I first press power button and the brake pedal is more stiff than usual. When pressed again the lights go off, 'Ready' state appears and car drives like normal. Toyota have said £120.00 for a diagnosis and waived if I agree for fault to be fixed by them.

Any initial thoughts or guidance as to cause and resolution would be much appreciated? image.jpg

There may be nothing wrong with your car. Press HARD on the brake pedal when you want to make it READY. You need to activate the brake light switch mounted at the pedal.

I think this may have done the trick! The lights are no longer appearing. Hopefully don't come back again. Thanks for the tip!

your pedal switch may need some adjustment.

I've owned for about 6 years. Patrick's tip seems to have helped so fingers crossed it doesn't come back

Thanks, I pressed harder as Patrick suggested and today I've not experienced the issue. If it were to return, is it complicated to do the pedal switch adjustment if it's needed? Thanks

If you're going to spend the time to "adjust" how the switch is mounted, you should just replace the darn thing. The part is relatively cheap and should be replaced if you're messing with it.

i think it's just a threaded tube and locknut. loosen the nut thread the tube/switch out 1/16 or so and try it. when your good, lock the nut down.
