It's just unrealistic to expect someone like me, who wants gasoline support, and who wants to buy a car under US$40000, to consider the Tesla Model S you drive when it doesn't have gasoline support and costs twice that.

Still you would think fiat could negotiate a better deal with bosch for the engineering and parts, and switch to lg batteries which appear to be less expensive, and they could have a real hit on their hands that could be rolled out to non-CARB states and be profitable.
