Posted on the Metro Expresslanes Facebook site today:

"If I have a Prius Plug-In with a CAV sticker, can I drive in the lanes on the 10 freeway? I know I'll need a transponder.. I just can't find anywhere on your site what the regulations are for this. Thank you."

    Answer:
"Hi Trina. I assume your vehicle has either a white or green sticker? If so, yes, you do still need a transponder, but green and white stickered vehicles travel toll free regardless of number of occupants in the vehicle. Be sure that before you head out set your transponder to "3." Hope this helps and let me know how your trip is."

I'm almost afraid to do this after reading another thread here regarding issues in these lanes.....

Why would you be afraid to do it? If you have green stickers and a 3-position-switch transponder, it's exactly as easy as your quote above says. I haven't done the I-10 express lanes, but use I-110 express lanes about once a month. Haven't been charged, and haven't been ticketed. :)

rxlawdude, where did you get your transponder? I thought AAA had them, but when I go on the website for the expresslanes, it shows only Albertson's and Costco have them......

I got mine at AAA in Pasadena. So they do have them at there. No problems using express lanes.

I purchased my transponder from AAA in Anaheim Hills, and have never had an issue with the 110 plus the handful of times I've used the 10.

Glad others answered. I know the Toll Corridor Authority (TCA) here in Irvine has them for sure, but with the toll lanes in LA, there had to be a more local source up there. :)
