What does this thing do? [pic]

    I bought my 07 used so I never fully explored the toolbox yet. I found this in the toolbox, does this belong to the Prius? What does it do?

    It holds the jack all tidy

    This is actually the Gen3 piece, not the Gen 2 piece you have, but the use is the same, it keeps the jack from rattling.

    It sits in the middle of the skiny spare and is held in place by a large hand screw to hold it and the spare in place.
    The long metal screw with the eye on the end goes into the front bumper after removing the plug for towing the car.

    Ah! That makes sense now! I just realized that the previous owner put the spare upside down.

    he did that so he could check the pressure without unbolting and flipping it.
