    I took my 2006 Toyota Prius with 199,800 miles into my local Toyota Dealer

    My intention was to replace my 12v battery but knowing I want to keep this beyond 300k miles I did the following with no recommendation:

    * replaced front & rear struts
    * 4 wheel alignment
    * new 12v battery
    * new spark plugs
    * clean throttle body / injector cleaner
    * new drive belt

    Spent $1680 lol

    I have already changed fluids, cleaned batter fan, etc

    Anything I didn't do?

    Also, for a dealer I really felt like the gave me a fair price for all of those services what do you all think?

    Joke aside, it does seem like a lot of services done for what they charged. I would think for $1600, they would only do the shocks/struts and battery. Consider everything else a bonus.

    When was the last time you changed the transaxle fluid? The coolant should be changed at 100k miles and then every 50k miles after

    1. PCV valve replacement
    2. Brake pads and brake shoes?

    Did you notice any difference in vehicle ride and handling with the new suspension parts installed?

    Yes, that was a good price "for a dealer". It is too bad many dealers have service pricing practices which make it necessary to state that qualifier.

    So replace pcv valve? What's the benefit to that? How much cost is it?

    The benefit to that is that the engine's crankcase ventilation system will operate as it should. As the engine develops vacuum during normal operation, this suction is applied through hoses and the PCV valve to allow hydrocarbons that have accumulated in the crankcase to be drawn into the intake manifold for combustion.

    If the PCV valve is clogged then excessive pressure may develop in the crankcase, engine sludge buildup will be more than it needs to be, engine oil seals may start to leak from the pressure, etc.

    The cost of the PCV valve is around $6. The labor time involved might be 20 minutes but you'll probably be charged for an hour.

    I thought Prius don't have belts? Did that get changed only on the Gen3?

    They do not have a timing belt. They do have a drive belt (serpentine belt)

    The belt is for the water pump only, nothing else.
