When I turn my Prius 2008 off, the dashboard stays on and flickers like crazy. This started happening two days ago. The car has been sitting for four months while I was away. I had it jumped. Drove it w no problems for five days, now this. Any thoughts? Solutions?

could be your 12v, or your dash display. test the 12v first.i would start by checking the 12 volt auxiliary battery in the right rear of the hatch. since it died and you had to jump start it, it might need recharging or replacing. you can access the 12v jump point under the hood in the fuse box for easy testing.

    Unfortunately no.
Outside of the obvious "Houston You Have A Problem".....

I'm concerned that you say you "Had it Jumped"....and hopefully no damage was done as a result of the jump of the battery itself.

I'd start with the condition of the aux battery. But I might not waste a lot of time trying to figure out this problem. This might be a let's not pass GO....let's just throw money at it and get it diagnosed and fixed.

    Check the 12 V battery.
After jumping it, you should have put an external charge on it as the car really isn't good at recovering one that is flat.
If it is more than 4 years old, it's probably toast.

I agree that the OP should definitely start with checking the 12 volt. And I hope it's as simple as him needing to replace it.

However, my concern is that in all the threads I can remember, and all the "Ghosts In The Machine" that a failing Prius 12 Volt seems to summon, I can't remember a thread where someone professed that their dash was flickering or staying on abnormally after turning the vehicle off.

I hope failing 12 volt is the problem. Because I don't like the potential alternatives IF the problem isn't that.

What exactly "stays on", and for how long? Do the lights eventually go out?
The flickering is definitely an issue.
As mentioned above, start with the 12V, and pray the car was jumped correctly.
