Hello folks! I've been lurking around for a good while now, and finally decided to join. :) My wife has a 2012 PIP and loves the car. So far I've installed widow visors had tint put in changed interior exterior lights to LEDs and switched the headlights over to hids. It's her daily and didn't want me getting crazy with modifications. Recently she's had a change of heart and has given me the green light to do a little more. I plan on lowering it on tanabe springs, changing wheels/tires with 5mm spacers in the rear, and installing an aftermarket foglight kit. :D I hope with lots of reading and searching, and of course with your tips and recommendations she'll have a sweet looking car.

congrats! be careful on the lowering, women tend to scrape things even at the standard height, and there's a lot of under body plastic that is easily damaged. all the best(y)

    Greetings and welcome aboard!
    She started out with one...

Go easy with mods that you cannot undo.
Pips are fairly expensive starting out, and it doesn't take many tips, rims, springs, and cat-backs to take the car past the $40k mark, and that makes for a really stark depreciation curve. Plus....nothing screams "STAY AWAY!!!" louder than an adult car with a bunch of little boy racer mods if she/you ever decides to sell the car or trade it in.
Still.....if you know that you're going to keep the car for 8 more years (and your wife is going to keep you.... ;) ) you might as well have some fun.

    ...mod away!

    Post pics! :D

    Oh yeah,
Stay away from anything having to do with the intake.
    Especially K$N filters.

    Good Luck!

thanks guys! Been doing some reading and trying to figure out which lowering springs would be best for pip. I spoke with a Tanabe representative earlier today and says he's not sure if the springs they have would work. He also told me to look up part numbers on the stock coil springs for the years they have available. i noticed that the front springs from 10-14 models are the same but the 12' pip has a different part number? just worried about the extra weight and i don't want to work on something that will not fit. what springs would be best for daily/ occasional mountain driving?
