looking for honest shop to work on transmission in San Jose

    We have a 2006 Prius with 106K miles, which has started having some low-pitched transmission whine when driving over 30mph. (I've confirmed it is not wheel bearings.) Can anybody recommend an honest shop to work on the transmission?

    Maybe you'll get lucky too?

    Won't know unless you spend the diagnosis fee. Best $100 I ever spent. I didnt even ask the dealership to pursue warranty, as I was denied by Toy Cust Care, for the very same argument the dealer probably made. However, dealer obviously has more weight than me.

    Transaxle warranty is 60 months/60,000 miles, BTW.

    Stevens Creek Automotive by Valley Fair is an honest shop that does good work. I have referred many people there over the years. They are not the cheapest place in town, but will treat you right and not charge dealer prices:
