Still won't happen at $31500. They would have to list it for $34000.....same price as what they sell new

I know it was hard to believe me, but I know how to wheel and deal. Everything was all set before I even walked in to the dealership. :)

Bingo. My gas savings alone is my profit maker.

Has anyone put an hid kit into their halogen lights? Any pics would be appreciated. Mine are from xenon depot and I have the 4300k which turn into 4700k after 100 hours or I have the 5000k which was on my 4Runner.

And they probably will list it at that price hoping someone comes in that didn't do their homework, and they will say how it's a 40k truck new just last year and we are selling it for only 34k, but let's make a deal...
Buyer offers 31-32k, they counter and settle on 32.5.....

Buyer thinks he got a great deal as he had them knock off 1.5k off of just last year was a 40k car...

Dealership made a quick grand for little or no effort so they make out a little too. It's all a game. And often they work on very small profit margins just to make a deal or to meet sales numbers.

But yeah. Surprising that he got such a good deal. But let's not crap on his parade. Enjoy the new car and the newfound MPG!! :)

9/14 production date......now that's the real reason. That car had to leave the lot! It's costing them everyday it sits there.

You should not have paid any tax as your trade in was worth more than your new car... That's how it is where I am anyways...

Edit: looks like you didn't pay any tax, well like $10 which was prob them taxing the $300 or so in doc and transfer fees...

Yes he got a great deal. In CA we can't off set the tax. Once we pay the tax...we don't get to reapply it. So it's a really big loss if you buy a car for $34k plus tax and doc = $38k, then you get $31500k on a trade 1 year later

Wow, yeah that blows. I lived in Cali for 5 yrs and didn't even realize that! Then again I only bought used cars and bikes back then..

It can be a huge savings when doing this type of thing... As we just saw..

if you have something to check the 12v battery voltage, I would check it. They most likely jump started that car from 9/14 and the charge might be low

He didn't lose money on the deal, he just didn't make much on the Prius. He should be able to make a little on the 4runner. His goal was to get rid of the Prius from 9/14.

I was saying you should check to make sure the 12v is fully charged, as they should've just jump started your car to get it to you
