This car is overdue. The least Toyota can do is properly announce its reveal date. Every day that passes without any news is beginning to sound like this project is in some sort of trouble. Felt realized this earlier on I think - clever chap. In many ways we want a properly finished product so it is right for Toyota to take time but it just means we are waiting endlessly.

Its a bit like a guessing game you play with a 4yr old, you keep giving hints until someone gets fed up. If I had to make a guess, I'd say Gen 4 would end up looking quite similar to Volt 2. And that's where my guesses end. Sergiospl's right, need to get some anxiety pills :)

Let's try to stay on topic: there are Hydrogen threads and Tesla forums.

I think we're all in the same boat, here. I am anxious to see what the Gen4 REALLY looks like because I took a complete pass on the entire Gen3 model when I first saw it. I knew right then and there in Detroit that it was not a car for me so I kept my Gen2. So here we are, 5+ years later, my '04 is eleven years old, and I'm biting my lip hoping Prius Team is not just a hype machine. Yes, I realize they work for Toyota Motor Sales and their job is Marketing; I know that. But I've been wandering these forums for a decade now and interacting with them since 2010; they're just as human as the rest of us. When they are underwhelmed by what Toyota Japan gives them to promote, it's subtle but you can tell. In this case, perhaps I'm personally biased but I really want to believe they wouldn't use the phrase "blown away" unless they really meant it.

Oh, not really on time ....

The 4th gen Prius will likely arrive on West coast in Jan 2016 for a total of 6 years and 8 months since first deliveries of gen 3 Prius (May 2009)

2nd gen Prius first delivered in September of 2003 (?), 3rd gen Prius arrived in Bay Area May 2009, only 5 years and 8 months between 2nd and 3rd gen.

Toyota would say delayed because of global financial crisis and perhaps tsunami .... and more ...

There was also that announcement from Toyota saying they were pushing back the release.

With only one source saying that the Gen 4 will appear in Frankfurt and with that show being less than 8 weeks away, it is not a sure thing.

I think it is time for a new poll: When will the reveal date be officially be announced by Toyota?

Then another poll: When the official reveal happens, who will be the first to post that it is ugly?

Well, I refuse to get too excited by speculated air brushed concept photo's OR too depressed by duct tape disguised supposed prototypes.

I suppose I'm a little strange, in as that many of the design elements in The Prius both Gen 2, and Gen 3 that routinely get criticized, I actually like. I like the high roof line, and the aerodynamic wedge shape.

Again, not wanting to either get too excited or too depressed, I guess my greatest fear would be that Toyota just slowly moves The Prius towards looking like any "normal" nice, looking hatchback or vehicle on the road. But I concede I might be in the great minority here. Hard to lobby for staying looking different.
