    Hello all,

Just looking for some quick direction and advice. I was due my 50,000 mile maintenance and in addition to what is on the schedule the dealer wanted to sell me a bunch of other services that they "suggested" I need. I usually don't go for these things but just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.

They wanted to sell me an extra $600 in maintenance that of course I declined.

    They wanted to do:

Brake system fluid exchange for $110
    Coolant fluid exchange for $160
    Engine air filter for $35
    Transmission fluid exchange for $160
Fuel and air induction service $100

Do I actually need to get any of this done?

I have also read a lot on this forum about a transaxel flush I haven't had that done or recommended either.

    Thanks in advance!

Their induction cleaning amounts to pouring some cleaner in your fuel tank and you can change the air filter yourself as well, both for around $30 total. I would recommend having the brake flush (with clean and lube), coolant exchange and transmission drain and fill, but you can negotiate those to around $250-$350 combined.

Not required, my 2004 at 2787k miles has its original brakes an fluid
Required at 100k miles and then every 50k thereafter if you use type SSL fluid. Read your maintenance guide.

Transmission fluid exchange for $160![/QUOTE]Worthwhile, but my dealer charges $100 and you can DIY this as well every 60k miles. Use ONLY type WS ATF
    Usually not required

nothing necessary, but the air filter should be done at 30k intervals. buy one for cheap and do it yourself, 30 seconds. if your keeping the car beyond 150,000 miles, change the tranny fluid, but find a place for 100 bucks or so.
