Supposedly the Inverter Pump was replaced, under the original Inverter Pump recall, in February 2011, at 99,144 miles.

8-11-2015, at 138,367 miles, the Inverter Pump dies.

    138,367 - 99,144 = 39,253 miles
    8/2015 - 2/2011 = 4 years and 7 months

I am of the opinion the technician never performed the recall, but was still paid for it. Maybe I could be mistaken, but recalling the longevity some people have had with their Initial Inverter Pump, makes me believe otherwise.

In July 2009 I wrote this post about how to replace the inverter coolant pump, which I did when the original had logged 81K miles and was still operational. This was prior to Toyota implementing the inverter pump recall.
How to Replace the Inverter Coolant Pump | PriusChat

That pump failed at 130K miles in 2012 and was replaced under the SSC. Hence the first new pump lasted three years and 49K miles. The 2004 is at 202K miles now so the second new pump has lasted three years and 72K miles without incident.

The bottom line is that I would not infer that your original pump had not been replaced given the events that you described. If you care, the time to check is when the service has been performed so that you can look for the newly installed part and verify it is present.

Honestly, you're never going to know one way or the other at this stage, so I wouldn't stress too much over it. For what it's worth though, my local Toyota dealer (or should I say ex-Toyota dealer, as I'll NEVER go back there again for ANY reason) said they replaced mine but never did (and this is 100% verified).

They made me schedule it (the recall) over 3 weeks in advance. They took my Prius for a whole day and made me catch a taxi home (and back to pick it up). Had three separate employees tell me everything was running to schedule over the course of putting in the car in the morning and picking it up that evening, as they handed me back the keys and had me sign some paperwork. And yet when I checked it out that same evening I found that those turkeys had never even touched it!

The reason I knew is that, as a second owner, I wasn't sure at first if the free recall work was still applicable to me. However I wanted it changed so I was looking into doing it myself. I had located the part and found a good deal of road grim on it, which then had my finger prints from touching it and checking it out. So very soon after picking it up I took a look at the "new" coolant pump and discovered it was still the exact same one that had been in there before I dropped it off, complete with the road grime and my finger marks all over it. 100% certain not a new part!

To say that I was mad at them would be an understatement!

Looks like my second one lasted about as long. Red Triangle Light On, Thinking its the Inverter Coolant Pump | PriusChat Replaced in July 2011 under the recall, went out last week after ~40k miles. I've read that the original pumps had black base plates and the new ones are bare metal (mine is bare), but I don't know if/when they ever put the bare metal ones in brand new cars.

That is not correct with respect to 2G Prius. Refer to my post #2 and the link to my other post about how to replace the pump, and look at the photo which shows the old and new pumps together. Both have the plated shiny base, and the car, which is model year 2004, was built in late 2003.
I don't know about rose, but perhaps worse.

Interesting. Luscious Garage's page about inverter pump failure is where I got that info. Too bad there's not an easy way to see if the pump has been replaced.
