I wonder about the size of the battery (maybe 10kwh) for the 50km/31mile ev range in PIP 2 or Prius Prime.

Sorry, but if this is the GEN IV...I'm glade we just bought another GEN III. That car looks horrible to me.

Can't figure out the blue car in the first photo, is it PIP2?

The blue car in the 2nd photo is clearly the same as the red.

Comments of that nature that don't actually tell us anything. What changes don't you like?

Overall, I'd say the difference between this and a Gen 3 are pretty small - small enough that I think liking the G3 and hating this car is dishonest.

Guys, take another look in post #118. It seems that we will see the plug-in also!

Well said. I liked the exterior of Gen3, but really didn't like the wrap around console. Gen 4 looks very Mirai like. Let's hope for an improvement on the interior.

While beauty is subjective and the engineers may have their reasons for it, I just think it's ugly and wouldn't buy it...and that's the honesty of some one who owns 2 GEN III's. A 2010 LB and 2015 LB.

Based on the pictures seen, I think I will like it better than I expected. I do like the front end. So much better than the gaping maw that Toyota seems to like. The front ground clearance looks like an improvement.
I can't decide about the side profile. I liked the way Toyota moved the roof peak to the rear from the G2 to the G3. Does it appear to y'all that is has moved back forward?
The area I do not care for is the rear. I don't like the way the roof line end in a point.
But since I am not n the market, it doesn't matter what I think. I just want the brand to do well.

Agreed. I think it was meant to happen, to generate buzz. The way that camo is flying off in the photos looks cool enough that it could pass as a television ad if I'm honest!

Why so much hate? Would you rather see a car that looks like every other car out their? The Gen III is a tough act to follow, and I am sure Toyota struggled with the new design in trying to keep it familiar, but new at the same time. I am glad that they kept the shape and made it modern and edgy.

    Um ... yeah, .... it's the 4th gen Prius.

Couldn't resist. I just don't get the 'ifs' at this point.

Prius dissing must have peaked out in the movie 'The Other Guys'. It's Will Ferrel's car getting dissed by Mark Wahlberg and several more.

Let's break that down: So we see the undressed car that looks just like the tarped car being road tested in Thailand, LA, San Francisco and other places in Europe. And it looks a lot like the rendered drawings from Taiwan .....

and it's a prank. while pretty much everyone is reporting about it: LA Times, etc, etc ....

    That's a good one o_O

Wow, such polarity over a few long range photos of the next generation of the world's best selling hybrid. As long as it's a Prius hatchback, I'm in yet, still.

I think the blue car in the first photo is different, it is PIP2, different front end!
