Agreed, those lines appear in the Prius C. The C really does give great mileage, it's just a tight feeling car. I'm a 48 regular and it's a 38 regular. Rear seat leg room is very tight. My daughter's '14 Corolla has great rear seat leg room even with the front seat all the way back.

Note that the 2016 Tacoma will also have the same unit (based on photos).

The 2010-2011 has a Distributed Subwoofer System for the JBL units. I can't confirm that the JBL GreenEdge units on the 2012-2015 Prius have DSS.

Edit: I think it does based on the description of the speakers

We will see more photos in the next week or so. It will be interesting for sure. The auto fanboy mags will give their assessment of Gen IV.
When Mr Toyoda sent this car back to the drawing board, I wonder how bad it must have been. Even the engineering mules have changed since last year. Now I'm wondering if the mustache can be changed and body color cladding added to the black glass panel between rear door and the hatch?
A lot of folks are bothered by the floating roof. Why does it bother them?

I recognize the top photo as Prius C. Is the bottom photo of a Lexus CT or ?

I finished today, replacing the dash speakers with 3.5 JL Audio, 2 front door 6x9 JBL and 2 rear door Kicker speakers. Now sound is great, but no Sub!!

The bottom looks like an RX interior.

Hopefully they use some or all of that gain in volume for a good place to hide a larger battery in the PiP2 version.

The RX is probably the most popular Lexus. The relentless pursuit of perfection and send M-B , BMW and Audi back to the design computer. Fire up the Cray, we're going to need it.
Hopefully Gen 4 will have some Lexus elements in it, too. This may mean the CT200h will be changing soon, too.

Enough about looks! it seems that these are more than likely the real specs. What about the specs?

2016 Toyota Prius Hybrid specifications (reported)
    • Length x Width x Height – 4,550 mm x 1,770 mm x 1,490 mm
    • Wheelbase – 2,700 mm

    • Powertrain type – Hybrid Electric
    • Engine type – DOHC inline four-cylinder petrol
    • Engine displacement – 1,797 cc
    • Engine code – 2ZR-FXZ
    • Max power – 105 PS (104 hp) @ 5,200 rpm
    • Max torque – 14.5 kg.m @ 4,000 rpm

    • Combined output – 145-150 PS (143-148 hp)
    • Transmission – eCVT (electronic Continuously Variable Transmission)
    • Fuel economy in JC08 test cycle – 40 km/l
2017 Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid specifications (reported)
    • Length x Width x Height – 4,550 mm x 1,770 mm x 1,490 mm
    • Wheelbase – 2,700 mm
    • Weight – 1,350 kg
    • Powertrain type – Plug-in Hybrid Electric
    • Engine type – DOHC inline four-cylinder petrol
    • Engine displacement – 1,797 cc
    • Engine code – 2ZR-FXZ
    • Max power – 77.2 kW/105 PS (104 hp) @ 5,200 rpm
    • Max torque – 147 Nm (14.5 kg.m) @ 4,000 rpm
    • Electric motor maximum output – 90 PS (89 hp)
    • Transmission – eCVT (electronic Continuously Variable Transmission)
    • Fuel economy in JC08 test cycle – 70 km/l
"Compared to the outgoing model, the next generation Prius will, reportedly, be 4,550 mm long (+70 mm), 1,770 mm (+25 mm) wide and 1,490 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. It is also expected to be lighter, tipping the scales at 1,280 kg (30 kg lighter)."

So, the plug-in is only 70kg or 154 lbs heavier than Gen IV! 2016 Toyota Prius, Prius PHEV - Rendering

I love that Lexus LS600h. But Dad doesn't have that kind of money or want for it.
Do you want a car like that? Yes
Do you need a car like that? No
But it would sure look good on my driveway. I'd say that the insurance would be stratosphericly high, given the starting price.

Me too. I enjoy some of the Lexus touches on the Gen 3 such as:

    • Water repellent front door glass
    • Felt-covered A & B pillars (cloth seat models get plastic pillars, typical of this price range.. hell some base Lexus models don't even have felt-covered pillars)
    • Auto Up/Down for all windows + illuminated switches (window + doors, 2012+ models also have illuminated mirror controls)
    • Soft touch steering wheel controls (based on the spy pics, we lose this and go back to hard plastic)
    • Variable speed power rear windows (i.e. soft close rear windows. The windows slow down as they reach the top)

They're just rehashing the information from the taiwanese site. Nothing is official!

Hmmmm, same weight difference between current Prius and PiP. Most of the difference should be battery weight/system.

Hope there is more of a spread here for PiP2. Unless that means the regular Prius will have a larger battery too?

I like the purple looking one in the upper left hand corner. That is an Avalon color, the name escapes me. This is just a guess: Sizzling Crimson Metallic. Or Royal Blackberry Metallic. Still looks like Deep Purple Metallic to me.

I think I would still get black to mitigate some of the aesthetic deficiencies of the rear of the vehicle.

So do I ,but unfortunately the designers thought that the interior of the new Prius should be way simpler.
At least according to images of the inside we have seen so far !
Coming from a gen 3 it looks kind of boring !
Who knows, maybe Toyota is pulling our leg and it was just another of their test mules .
    Hope dies last !
