Really? I though only a moderator could. You can only trim down to something like the word "deleted", as far as I know.

Yes, you are right. Maybe if you flag your own post, they will take it down for you.

Sorry Danny. This Android is a new experience for me. I wonder if Gen 4 will have Android for Auto?

I've tried that, I like the weather and gas price finder. Pandora is great, too. But, it is distracting.

I didn't even look at a gen 1 for the same reason.

I pre-ordered a gen 2 for several reasons - mileage, cargo flexibility, and storage compartments were among the top reasons. And I've made extensive use of all of those over the years since I got mine in 2004, including four times this last weekend. It is, to me, a big part of what it means to be a Prius and why the Prius is one of, if not the most practical car ever made.

And I got 44 mph to Kansas and back, despite 35 knot crosswinds, and a family of four and all of our stuff.

Yes, gentlemen, HyCam and Prius are similar but not the same.

I agree about the TCH being a hiway cruiser. Before I left for Fla, I got a speeding ticket in my Prius. The HyCamry had less than 1000 miles on her and at 70 mph I was getting 41 mpg. I filled it once between Indy and Daytona Beach. Very impressive to day the least.

I did fill up when I got to the city line, when we were in a torrential downpour. I wonder how a Gen 4 would handle the Florida climate? It's not nearly as hot as Arizona, but Fla. does have very high humidity.

At the risk of sounding dumb, what are your concerns about the Gen4 and Florida? The reason I ask is that I think Florida has been kinder to my Prius than NY ever was. WAY less potholes, NO salt on the roads (I am in central Fl where I have no issues with the coastline salt). I no longer have to put foam in the front in the winter, and no more rust. My MPG is more consistent here. I did tint the windows and install a dash mat on the dashboard. I do keep a good coat of wax on it and try to keep it parked in the garage when not in use. I replaced the 12 volt battery before I moved here with a nice gel type one and it is still going strong 5 years later. I see Prius cars all over the place here.....should I be worried about something, especially if I buy a new Gen4.....?

    Good practice.

Garage store helps with rubber longevity too I'm sure, tires, wipers. I just wish our garage was insulated sometimes though; during our extended hot spell our's can get toasty. Thankfully it's got some windows, and I put a fan in one to help a bit.

Regarding waxing that's something I'm always on too, spring and fall. Unfortunately with our hot spell they've banned DIY car washing, I hope they lift the ban soon, our's is getting decidedly grubby. We could run it through a (still legal) automated car wash, but I loath the things, will likely just hang in 'till the washing ban is lifted.

Your Vancouver location brought something to mind from my first visit to your beautiful city last month - a zillion yellow Prius cabs. I never saw so many Prius cabs before. I wonder what percentage of Prius sold are in a taxi fleet.

Prius in Florida. From reading these forums, buy your Prius -before- you move to Florida. It seems the outfit that sells them there is, well, "quirky". :)
