i think the florida concern is heat related battery degradation.

But has that ever been an issue in a hybrid? The issue with the Leaf seemed to happen when a fully charged car was left sitting in a hot garage or in the sun. The traction battery is never charged to 100% on a hybrid, and the only time I regularly parked the gen2 with even a full SOC was during the winter, because the ICE ran more for heat.

The colours are as follows. The equivalent USA colour names are in brackets (some are conjectures, some are correct). The colour codes are either conjecture (based on my list of colour codes and equivalent Japanese name) or pretty certain (like Super White)

    3L4? Bordeaux Mica Metallic
    9AE Light Purple Mica
    6J7 Forest Green Mica
147 or 164 Silver Metallic (Looks darker than Classic Silver. So perhaps Millennium Silver or Titanium Silver or Silvermist. Hard to say.)
    202 Black
3R3? Red Mica Metallic (Most likely Barcelona Red)
9AF Dark Violet Mica Metallic (Elusive Blue Metallic)
070 White Pearl Crystal Shine (Blizzard Pearl)
040 Super White II (Super White or Alpine White depending if you're in Canada or in the US)

Bordeaux is possibly a new colour (although it does look close to Black Cherry Pearl), Light Purple probably won't make it across the Pacific (lighter than Iced Amethyst and Iceberg Silver), Forest Green looks new. I don't know what the silver is, especially with the generic "silver metallic" Japanese name.

Probably not. Toyota hasn't announced any vehicles that will receive CarPlay or AndroidAuto.

Well, one man really - Andrew Grant, Yellow Cab #15.

What ho: non-metallic, good ol' white? I'm interested. Wonder if it'll make it to Canada tho?

No idea. Wasn't Alpine White offered at one point on the Gen 3 or am I making things up? I know it was available on base models of the Prius v.

Hope not, 'cause I am thinking keeping Gen III and get PIP2 next year!

seems to be a southwest concern that dates back to early leaf batteries. not sure there's any proof that prius battery has shorter life in warm climes, but anecdotally, i think i've seen more 'going south' in the south.

I worry about our uninsulated garage too. Drive it in there, totally warmed up, on a hot day, it turns into slow-death in there. I keep garage windows open, put a fan on window sill to move the air a bit, and pop the hood to accelerate cool down, a bit...

And that was before Nissan made changes to the battery, supposedly now with a more heat-resistant chemistry!

According to a Toyota dealer, the new Prius will be shipping from Portland to U.S. dealerships this September. And the MPG starts with a "6." I wonder if anybody knows if there's already a ship load at the port.

040 Super White was only ever offered on fleet vehicles on the Gen 3.

Is the Nov 30 production date set in stone? If so, I am shocked that I could be the recipient of a dealer's b.s. or misinformation he received from Toyota.

Gentleman, my only concern with Florida and Gen 4 is the heat and humidity. Heat kills any battery faster. I always thought it was the cold but I was wrong. Possibly, the summer starts the process and winter just finishes it off.

After seeing the new colors and the shape of the Gen 4, I can't wait to drive one. I know that Toyota has sweated the details. And they also back their vehicles.

Wow, so new colors for the newest Prius.
How did you figire out the color codes?

To add to my disappointment, my source is high enough up the chain to have already seen the new Prius. I happened to see my source at the golf course yesterday, which gave me the opportunity to ask about the new Prius and I was obviously happy to hear it was shipping so soon.

:D, I am in Florida and I share the climate control with the battery thru this vent: What is that vent on back seat, right side? | PriusChat

    According to the schedule:
the 2016 Toyota Prius initial dealer order acceptance starts on 9/1/2015,
    production starts November,
    and 4 weeks later,............:)

Since hybrids/EV in general aren't selling so well and gas prices continued to fall, I wonder if there will be discounts available on buying the redesigned Prius...?

I would try to get a great deal on a 2015, If the new model does not do it for me during the last week of December when people are at the mall, shopping for other things.
