excellent, they'll be ready when the 5 minute charge becomes doable.

 

As you increase the voltage you need to also move to more exotic insulation materials, I believe.
Certainly it might be possible...but the charging stations need to be affordable and plentiful.

I've now used the Nissan CHAdeMO fast DC charger 4 or 5 times and anything bigger than this probably isn't usable for most people.
I'd rather they have twice as many of these rather than make them twice as fast.

you're thinking in todays technology. buy the time they have 5 minute charging, they'll have an easy way to deliver it.

 

The property that the article touts is power density, and the battery may indeed be strong in that category, but the major limitation for BEVs is energy density, not power density. Capacitors have great power density--energy density; not so much. A practical car battery has be strong in many categories: energy density, power density, safety, number of charge/discharge cycles, cost, low self-leakage, durability in hot/cold temps, etc.

 

OK, just tell me when they change the physics of electricity so I can prepare for it.
