Here is the Periscope + HD video version shot in Las Vegas.

Here are the links to the Periscope videos for those who missed it:

    Original post:
Get ready for a late night, everyone. The PriusChat team is going to do a live walk-through of the new 2016 Prius tonight at 10pm Pacific / 1am Eastern. That time is tentative due to vehicle availability, crowds of press around the car, etc, but we're shooting for 10pm.

You can get notified of when we start by following @priuschat on Twitter: PriusChat (@PriusChat) | Twitter and in the Periscope app. I probably won't have time to update this thread with the live link once we get going, so watch for the announcement on Twitter.

You can watch in a web browser, but it's a much better, interactive experience with the mobile apps that you can download from iTunes or Google Play.

"Periscope Now" has a solid one star out of five rating on iTunes. I think I'll pass.

    Same page not found error.

I don't care since I don't use Apple, but I thought I'd check the link in case it doesn't work. And it doesn't.

Lee Jay, no problem, I'm also including the link to the OS/2 Warp version of Periscope. :)

Wow - really? We're bringing Apple fanboi BS to a Prius forum? I see the moderator deleted Lee Jay's response, but after that sort of provocation, I think I'd excuse just about anything (okay, not actual threats, but short of that . . . ).

Let's stay on topic, people. That does not include a favorite flavor of jelly bean, ice cream, or smartphone. I'm sorry Danny's chosen a medium that apparently requires a Twitter account to access, but whatever. This is important info of great interest to members here, and there's bound to be a bit of frustration for people who have to deal with sign-ups, etc., on a service they don't want. OS/2 jokes are out of line, so can it.

You can watch just in a web browser, and don't have to have a Twitter account.

Thanks for the Periscope walk through :) Was the presenter, John, Tideland?

Curious to know if there was a spare tire underneath trunk load floor?

I assume we'll see more in the way of formal presentation in Frankfurt - I have to say my jaw dropped when the official Livestream ended less than 10 mins after it started. Thanks very much for this informal walkthrough (and earlier walk around during the main press availability) - it was a lot more informative than the "reveal". Many interesting items, and more than a few disappointments. Despite talk of increased passenger space, it looks like they've actually reduced rear seat headroom and lowered the seats - both MAJOR negatives for me. I'm no fan of the white plastic center console, either - worse than just weird, it looks cheap and toylike, if not like a, umm, porcelain fixture stuck between the seats. Trunk doesn't look bad, interesting that it's no longer level with the opening, but probably not enough off to be an issue (unless maybe you're rolling out a wheeled suitcase....).

Overall, I'm not feeling great about what I saw this evening. It looks like Toyota may have done what I was most afraid of - in an effort to appeal to "regular" buyers, they may have sacrificed some virtues beyond MPG that matter to past models' owners. This strikes me as a bad idea, because I really don't think anyone is cross shopping the Prius and, e.g, a VW CC - it's just a different market segment. I'll reserve judgment until we have a chance to sit in it and take a drive for ourselves, but this initial look has me thinking a lot more seriously about an Avalon hybrid; it's a great car, and unlike the Camry the trunk's so big it can give up a slice to the battery without compromising utility too badly. This matters to me, since our other car's a plug-in and this will be our road trip car. I prefer the Prius hatchback config, but not enough to make up for a vehicle I find too low-slung with limited rear headroom.

I missed the Periscope walkthrough. The non-level opening surprises me since that was one of the many things that the Prius line has previously gotten right.

Anyone have a picture with the hatch open that shows this uneven floor opening?

Basically just take the false floor out on the gen 3 and that's how the 4th Gen looks like.
