The silver rim is plastic and completely detachable. Pops right out just like my Gen2. There might even be a picture of that. Make sure it's the black car in the picture. I pulled the rims off and Fusco (I think) took pictures.

The other one is a series of 5 individual insets. Because not everyone will want such a strong contract between the tires and the rims, we expect there will be aftermarket rims of various colors available at some point.

Yeah I understand that. Thought (hope against hope) I saw a silver alloy rim peaking out from behind. Second look: looks like that's all part of the wheel cover. Sigh.

That's correct. It finally has wheel well sound insulation that first showed up in the rear wheel well of the 2007 Camry in North America.

When painted, the rear quarter looks like the last gen Mazda3.

I cannot agree with people who think its ugly. For me the Gen 2 was the ugly one, an extremely boring wet weekend of a car with no real style at all. The Gen 3 was a considerable improvement with a more aggressive body shape. This goes even further and looks great, particularly in the second photo.

Just a quibble: are those pictures preliminary, or photoshopped? Isn't the C-pillar zone black, all the way through?

Yeah, it is. Some people, for reasons that escape me, are really bothered by that. I had to look at the altered pictures several times to figure out what had changed.

This quite the presentation of new car and first deliveries. In Toyota's defense, they haven't made first deliveries yet, so they have time to better introduce the 4g Prius.

I actually really like the edited Gen4 image with painted sides hiding that floating roof. I wonder whether that will be an option.

We've seen it in the Japanese staff manual that there will be accessories in Japan for the C-pillar.

And how is the 2016 Prius going to change that? It will still be slow!

Actually the Gen III model V with 17 inch wheels didn't have rolly-polly handling and had LED lights.

Likewise the Prius v Five with 17" rims, low profile tires, and LED headlamps.
