TRS Morimoto Elite H11 HID kit issue

    Don't illuminate as far as HID, also can't replicate the point light source of a halogen filament or an HID discharge arc.

    True, but in my case what options do I have since my headlight switcher is not allowing the headlights to turn on correctly. Since it happens sporadically it makes me wonder if I should have went with the relay and not the Canbus relay?

    I have two things...

    1) OMG I just ordered this kit yesterday (minus the Standalone Canbus relay).

    2) The Prius kit doesn't auto select the canbus option, and in the their video that explains the options the guys says the Standalone Canbus is mainly for european cars. I got the regular harness plus the Anti-Flicker Capacitor Link.

    How old is your kit you should probably call TRS.

    You don't need the relay harness at all. I've been running TRS HID kit for almost 3 years. Not a problem here.

    A few months old. When I bought mine they recommended the Canbus and also said that it wouldn't work without it. I wonder what's going on.

    So your saying I can remove the Canbus entirely? I tried to turn on my lights without it, but it wouldn't work. How would everything plug in? Here's a picture .

    Yours is a little bit different. The black and red wire go to the bulb harness while the zebra print line goes to the HID bulb

    Ok I removed the Canbus. When I manually turned my headlights switch on nothing happened. When I turned it on and off 4-5 times the bulb finally turned on. I waited a few moments and did it again and the headlight seemed to turn on constantly. Should I still be concerned?

    Did you check your ground points? It sounds like you don't have a good connection, especially if it fails to reliably ignite. FYI, it's bad to turn HIDs on and off rapidly in succession like you are doing. That's a good way to kill the igniters/ballasts.

    I understand that about the rapid succession. I'm working closely with TRS who told me to do whatever it takes to locate the issue. They will replace the entire kit if needed. In their own words this is unheard of.

    Now that I did both sides everything seems to work perfectly. I'll keep monitoring it though.

    Since I removed the Canbus relay both headlights seem to be in perfect working condition. I'll get together with TRS on Monday as well. Thanks y'all.

    I don't understand why TRS is recommending the canbus relay. This is at least the second thread where it was mentioned that TRS sold a canbus relay to an uninformed buyer. SMH

    Uninformed is the least of my concerns. I'm glad my family is safe while driving at night. God forbid the headlights could have went out.

    So far so good since I removed the Canbus relay. Weird part is TRS will not respond back to me now since I asked them about why they recommended the Canbus from the get go.
