On mine I get in, sit down, foot on brake, push button. In the second or two it takes to close the door, mine beeps once, shift and go.

So, the little green LED in the Power Button when you press the brake pedal is an indication that the fob has been recognized inside the car and the the car will start when you press the Power Button. If this light is delayed by 15-20 seconds after pressing the brake pedal, I'd say you need to check your fob battery and/or the 12V battery. Also, make sure your brake lights illuminate immediately when you press the brake pedal.

Could be. There are times when I have to press the brake pedal 3/4 of the way down for the green led to illuminate. At times I press the brake pedal half way and see that the led is still off state and press the start button and prius won't get to ready stage. Probably everyone else here says their is fine because they press brake pedal all the way down.

i just went and checked. I only need to touch my brake pedal to illuminate the brake lights, and the LED in the button. Very sensitive.
