    Hi Everybody!

I will move to UK form Hungary, and I would like to "import" my Prius as well.
Does anybody do it before? What changes needed on the car and how much will it be?
I know, I have to make MOT, this is around 55 Pounds, there are some other papers as well, but do I have to changes the headlights, ect?
Can someone tell me about the road tax for the Prius and an approx. insurance? I know it depends on the person, just I need an approx. amount :)
    Thanks for the help!

I've only ever bought cars from the UK and imported here to Ireland. There are a few UK people on here who might be able to help

Also, have a look at the DVLA website as there is info on there

Thanks, I checked almost everything. If the cost will be too high, then my little tram will stay at home :(

I don't know anything about the import fees or changing the headlights, however, the road tax is £0 on the third gen Prius as the tax is based on CO2 emission levels, anything under 100gm/km goes free.

The government website below should have all the details you are looking for with regards to importing:
Importing vehicles into the UK - GOV.UK

As for insurance, this is extremely variable and is dependant on your age, address, driving history etc. It would help if you can get an official document from your current insurance company showing how much 'no claims bonus' you currently have. In the UK this is calculated in number of years. I know in certain EU countries this is just a percentage where you get 5% every year or some such. This would help bring your initial insurance premium down by a lot depending on how much bonus you have.

All the best, let us know how you get on.
