I wonder if they should even bother covering up the Gen 2 Plug-in Prius if it's going to essentially look the same. Just wait till some Gen 4 Prius are sold, then drive it around, and nobody will bat an eye at the charging port door. One of those "hidden in plain sight" things.

It's probably just a test car that has been covered since before the reveal so they left it covered during continued testing.

I wouldn't look much into this quite frankly.

Didn't they say the Eco version would come later ?
So maybe it's the Eco Version they are test driving !?

Union rules say only a certified technician can remove it, and he's been out sick.

SEMA coming up. May be they stripped the paint, chromed the body, and put it in disguise on the way to Vegas:

We missed our chance to jazz up our Gen IIIs, cover it with tape and drive it around Las Vegas in early september...

I'll take one of those please.

    They didn't get the memo?

Just a guess: even though there's been a reveal, they're trying to keep it low key for now, not have show cars out and about.

Ok, slap a Corolla badge on it and no one would notice it.

Wish you took pictures of the front, especially the headlights and fog lights. It could be another version of the Prius. It could also be covered up because the car is not officially on sale yet and they need to cover up pre-production cars.

That's what I would guess. Plug suppose to have more conservative styling and had different code name (680A).

I am guessing it is just like Gen4 minus stupid edge/fin on rear door and 3/4 panel, no blackout on C pillar and normal tail lights.
