Prius overfilled by 1/2 inch!

    You should be fine with 1/3 cup. There won't be any damage to your engine with the little overfill

    I mean I drained 1/3 of a cup. There is still an overfill per the dipstick, just a bit less of an overfill. a TINY bit less.

    I got Air Power America 2000 LiquiVac Oil Changing System for Large Engine but will have to wait for it to be shipped. Hopefully a week of driving on the now lesser overfill won't do any damage.

    This is the reason I installed Fumoto valves in our cars, the dealer can't seem to fill the car to the proper level. With the Fumoto, it's super easy to drain off a little or a lot into a container.

    I had one of those in my 4runner. Great except for one thing, they are horrible if you're in a hurry.

    If you're in a hurry, unscrew the whole valve out of the oil pan. ;)
