Somewhere I saw a verification that for GEN4HB, the base tire size is 195/65/15 - same as GEN3HB Base (at least in the Japanese market). I thought I had seen it on the buyer's invoice from The Tokyo Auto Show that was attached to a post in this chapter but I can't find it now.

Still waiting for some word or verification of the exact 17" tire size and/or if any other wheel size will be offered by Prius - Any ideas on this?

It would follow that 17" would also be the same: 215/45R17. Good pic here. There's unfortunately a watermark right over the "17", but the size can be teased out. Good pic of the (gloss black) alloy rim with plastic inserts too:

Yes, it would follow that 215/45R17 would be the 17" size on GEN4 - I'm just waiting for the official word before I make any plans (I've got plans, you know).

As for the image attached, I still can not open it - believe me, I have tried many ways. In this case the "attached box" is clickable but the media will not open or download. I am soliciting anyone else who has this issue? Thank you.

Well, finally, this video is definitive about the wheel and wheel insert. A very beautiful and well done video, it clearly shows at 0.55 - 0.59 and again at 4.30 - 4.33, the 17" wheel in closeup and slow motion with the black star-shaped insert removed and the white wheel rotating showing the brake components visible behind. So again, the white part is the wheel and the black part is the removable insert. That's kind of a bummer for me, but it is still very beautiful!

Doubleclick and hi-light the entire link below, then right click and select "Go to", etc. It is very beautiful.

Bill, Since you are double posting the same thing in multiple threads, we've already posted pictures for you of the 17" wheels WITH the colored inserts shown as an option. Secondly, those aren't 17" wheels in the video. These are the 17 inch wheels. The white/silver parts are the inserts that can be removed. This has been explained a hundred times since the first showing in Vegas.

Interesting replies from yourself and Mr Mendel - they are strangely argumentative, and that is not my intent. As I have indicated, your prior links to images are not available to me for reasons I cannot explain. If the image above is one of them, it is not definitive in any way to the question of the wheel makeup.

I agree that the slow-mo in today's video appears to be a 15" wheel based on the proportions of it and the sidewall of the tire (also, strangely, I now see it at the 0.55 to 0.59 location). Granted, it is also noted to be 15" in print. Although slightly different in design and appearance, that 15" wheel is strikingly similar to the (possible) design of the 17" wheel that is also black and white. Until I see it more clearly, I am not convinced that the two wheels are designed and manufactured in totally opposite directions.

Either way, both of those wheels are beautiful to me. If the 5 white/silver triangles of the 17" wheel are removable, that is good news for me and the hope I have for colored-keyed paint. For now, I continue to take your assessment of the wheels and their inserts as accurate, but I'll point out again that it has not been made clear to me, nor has it been explained anywhere near a hundred times.

Maybe you would consider coping and pasting definitive pictures in your next post, rather than just a link or two? I would like to get to a point where we can totally agree on this. Thank you,

    Strangely Argumentative?
Why don't you start off by downloading a browser that actually works, and allow you to see photos and click on links like everyone else on the internet?

    Chrome Browser

There are countless videos on YouTube, yes, probably a hundred at this point, showing the 17 in wheels with the inserts that pull out.

I'm not sure what you mean by "copying and pasting definitive images" in our posts.

On a properly working broswer, these links do show up as images.

I'm not sure how you expect us to know what you are able to see or not see, click on, or not click on, or watch on YouTube.

"Double click" and "go to" etc? Really?

What are you browsing the internet on?

Those of us that were in Las Vegas have explained it to you. There are two types of 15" wheel cover designs (well they're the same but one has blacked out parts) and the 17" wheel which is black and the silver triangles in between the spokes are plastic.

Europe might be getting another wheel option (looks like 18")..Toyota previewed this car in the Netherlands. The third photo shows the blue Prius in the back ground along with a red touring model with the 17" wheels. The rims are a bit bland but they do fit nicely, especially the graphite finish.

I mentioned this on other thread, these are similar or same design for their older high end wheels from lexus, for instance IS-F had these in 19" size but there were other models. They look excellent in pictures and I hope they are actually part of factory build in Europe, not just accessory. I would pay more for package that has those wheels but I would not pay for these wheels as accessories in Europe, since they are freaking expensive.
