Love the PIP and enjoy reading all of your posts. Have learned quite a bit.

I am looking for leather interior and have decided Katskins makes a good product. Live in Pasadena and would like to find someone that can but install the leather for me. Checked Al & Ed's and a local auto upholstery shop but they wanted $2,800 and $2,200 respectively. Seemed high to me.

    Thanks in advance

That does seem high. I think when I looked up the price of the kit and it was under $900. Granted they need to make money on the install but that seems a bit steep.

You might want to give Dianne @ Carson Toyota a call and see if she can help you out.

Great! Thanks for the advice. Called Tom that was referred to in the thread. Making arrangements for him to come to my home and do the install for convenience. Love This Board!

Based on input from this forum, I got mine done at Coach Auto Restylers in Anaheim couple weeks ago at what I considered a good price, $1,100 including install. They were super good to deal with, did a great job totally painless. I would recommend them without any reservation.

Bringing back this thread since it helped me a lot and I wanted to share. Tom (310-920-9885) installed a Katzkin kit for my 2012 and his installer did a good job. We talked a few times by phone for price/logistics but mainly just texted. I had no issues with his installer who was very nice, punctual and efficient. His total price (kit + install) was $995 ($300 for just labor), which was firm, though it was less for some board members, which I mentioned to no avail. Carson Toyota (where I bought my car) quoted $1,100 so I almost said OK to $1k.

Luckily, an eBay seller has the Prius kit for $575, shipped (classicgrillsandautomotiveaccessories). When my kit arrived, I texted to set up an appointment and Tom requoted $400, until I reminded him of our prior conversation and he quickly ceded. With a $25 coupon from eBay, I ended paying $850 all in (sold my softex to his installer for $50 for his daughters Prius so was really $800!)

Tom runs a pretty honest business and seems to like the referrals from this board. His guy finished the whole thing in about 6 hours (incl drive time and reinstall). The seats are awesome as everyone says - texture feels 100% better IMO and light gray perforated leather keeps the seat much cooler vs charcoal Softex (also, still matches bc interior fabric is light gray).

Thank you for your advise and pictures. Do you a picture of the rear seats as well. I was concerned whether the two rear seat side inserts where covered by the kit ( like the one on the right with a vent in it and the plain left side rear ) Would you mind posting a picture of the rear seat ? Thanks

Sorry this is so late. Yes, the rear side inserts are covered by the kit. There are no portions of the seats that are left uncovered. The Katzkin kit looks as close to OE as you can get. It entirely replaces the stock "leather" except the headrest and door panels, where it covers over them completely. Hope this helps.

Can you please let me know the exact color you went with?
My 2012 PiP has "charcoal" interior; the seats are almost black. I would like to use a lighter color as you did, but I have no idea if it will look good when it's all done

Did you also have the dark interior? Can you post more pics? Does the new color match well?
