The theories I've seen put it very close to the Chevy Trax. If true that would be a little bit larger than a Fit. Have to wait until January to see for real.

Guess I should have been clearer. The theories I've seen put the exterior very close to the Chevy Trax by comparing spy photos and lining up Trax profiles with the spy photo Bolt profiles. Using that information and then concluding that the Bolt will have more/less interior volume than a Fit seems like a stretch since the Bolt will have a completely different drive train. Have to wait until January to see for real.

The early Bolt was a Sonic EV, which the Trax is an AWD crossover version of. The ICE Sonic hatch has less passenger space than a Fit, but more cargo.

Leap frog or not, it's nice to see the Prius won't be the only "real" choice any more...and that's coming from a man who's bought two of them.

there is no choice outside the prius. you're on to a whole nuther type of driving. it really has no competitors in the strict sense. that's not to say some people won't move on to other vehicles. they will and always have.

While I give Gen III Prius highest marks...no choice and no competitors...we'll have disagree on this one Bisco. ;)

I do not know, I guess it would depend where they drove? Take it through some crap part of town where breaking down carries the risk of getting mugged or worse. Now that would be seat of the pants exciting.

Maybe follow the old Top Gear idea of painting messages on the vehicle and heading out to see how far you can go. Will you break down in a nice place, or not? That would be more fun.

Most of the advice I've seen given is somewhere around the 25 mph avg. range, P&G in neutral, no HVAC, and keep the starts/stop to an absolute minimum. New freeway feeder roads built in low traffic areas (edges of town) that have turnarounds underneath overpasses and no traffic lights on the straights are great locations. A cool, calm early Sunday morning makes for nearly ideal conditions with very little or no traffic. A public charger nearby so one can start with as close to a 100% SOC completes the trifecta.

    A strong bladder helps too.

Wait...isn't that how Prius drivers get their astronomical numbers too? Rhetorical.
