I definitely still love the look of my facelift Gen 3 with 17in Lexus rims...

As for the 2016s, I'm sure they handle better, and I tried to love them in person, but I'm still neutral.
On with the 2016 Prius pics...

You can see what's underneath in the floor's reflection - you can also see the independent rear suspension.

Is the beltline actually swooping up, or is that just from the angle of the photo?

I agree...your gen 3 is much better looking. I still can't accept the gen 4 look. Those are some ugly nice person hubcaps. This car is going to get an update quickly.

Wow....and not in a good way. I just bought my 2012 Prius Five and am so happy with it. These photos of the new generation Prius make me think the value of mine will only go up. The front end is okay. It looks somewhat like a baby Corolla that hasn't quite grown up yet, but the rear end is pretty darn hideous in my ever so humble opinion. I just don't see that rear growing on me.
But to each his/her own. These photos have just made me that much happier with my gen 3.

That's what I thought too until I sat in it. Yikes... and not in a good way. The interior is pretty hideous as well. Pictures don't do it justice as it just looks really nice. It's when you sit down and imagine your morning commute in it. The shifter is really low in the dash. The porcelain white interior trim reminds me of bathroom fixtures. And those swooshing interior lines actual make an indentation into the where the upper glove box box would be on the passenger side if there was one. There is only the lower glovebox now. What I can't get over is how the design makes a little place where you think you may store items in there like in some Honda interiors. But nope, it swoops up and down. Nothing can go in there.

They removed the "lightweight tonneau cover". It was there on Saturday and it was kind of in the way. It's fabric if anyone is curious. It has 4 strings - two to tie down to the trunk and two that are hooked to the hatch so it lifts up when the hatch is opened.

Looks schmooks, that 2016 will handle the pants off a hinged-in-the-middle, body rolly-polly gen 3.

In terms of feel, the interior is essentially the same as Gen 3 interior, which is similar to the Gen 2 interior. The center gauge dashpod soldiers on in the 4th gen. Perhaps the Gen 5 will have a more conventional dash layout.

I saw a review in which the reviewer said he especially liked the rear but he did not like the front so much .
I guess this phenomena is called "taste"
I like everything about the new Prius and think it looks way better than my gen. 3 Facelift !

Oh ok. I would think it just folds into a small square like those front windshield sunshades.

The one in SF is a Prius Three

Haha. Well I guess you just have to wait until you can see one for yourself and scrutinize the interior :)
