Just want to say and say I love the amount of info and support that is on this site. I have found myself on here several times before and after buying my used 2013 Prius TWO, 2 1/2 weeks ago. I find any car info entertaining, especially if its about the cars I currently own. I also like to work on my own stuff if I can. But, I also don't like to work on my cars all the time, hence I lean toward cars that are know for there high dependability.
Btw, for the people on the fence about buying a Prius, rent one, that is what convinced me to finally buy a Prius. I was very resistant to Prius ownership. I didn't want to be "one of those people". I rented about four or five cars over the last couple of years, not looking to buy, but out of personal necessity. Each car I had for about three days and would put about 1100 to 1400 miles on them. I was not in the market to buy, but the Prius stuck in my mind as a car I could live with. Because of the mpg (of course) and comfort and convenience, along with the reputation of dependability. With that said, I am not the stereo type Prius owner. I came out of a 6th gen. Civic. Love the handling and the engine that pulls to red line. We also have a Sequoia. Love the V8 power, not having to worry about scraping a bumper on the curb or driveway, the go anywhere 4WD and the haul anything, tow anything and haul a bunch of people size of and SUV. On the Prius I love the hybrid tech along with the Smart Key, the MPG, and while the driving experience is somewhat numb, it is easy predictable and effortless on the kind of driving I do 95% of the time.

Welcome!! Many friends in here! Including Engineer Bill who is building his "Firebrid". I really am blown away on all the mods that can be done to our cars. That Android unit with the touch screen really has my eye.

    Thank you.
I read through Engineer Bill's Firebird with a lot of interest, only to be let down that I have to wait to see the final results. I can't wait to see it finished.
I too have been looking at different mods, but not sure what I want v.s. budget to spend.

    Thanks!

I have an off the hook idea for Engineer Bill. When he is done, it would be cool if he could do a road trip to all of us. Not specifically to each of us individually, but to an area close to us all so we meet him regionally. Each us could spot him gas money, we could take him out to dinner (Wifette is she goes along), do some photo ops, and send him on his way to the next visit. Engineer Bill reminds us all of how cool and fun it is to take our talents, use it as a hobby of love, and just have fun doing it. All of us when we were growing up, had that neighborhood uncle who we all went to, to watch him build things and fix things. The neighborhood uncle taught us math, sceince and biology without us even knowing it. The neighborhood uncle grew older, and became an Engineer Bill. This type of person, gave us all the reasons in the world to mod all the rides we have owned, taken the road trips we have had and even do some repairs and mods to our homes, our home stereo systems.........I could go on.
So, what I am trying to say is Engineer Bill is an example of who we all are in priuschat..................we just love to build and tweak things..........its in our genes!! What do you all think? Can we all spot Engineer Bill 20 or 30 dollars per area to do this? Since I am on the west coast, I thought our friends up far north (Washington, Oregon), then noCal, then soCal, then San Diego........you get my drift. And each area contributes gas money so he could continue on. Let me know your feelings on this.
