My daughter had it put on her new Acura at dealership. I found it 2 oz bottle simoniz glasscoat for $24.94 including shipping. I been using Zaino for years just thought I'd try something different. I did a couple washing in dawn, then used clay bar lubricated with detail spray, got it slick. I put the entire 2 oz on the 2015 Prius, will report back next year and let you know how its doing. It took about 2 hours prep and an hour putting on. It looks nice and shinny.

Putting in the time, I'd have gone with Optimum Polymer Technologies Gloss Coat personally ( Optimum Gloss-Coat Paint Coating ) but it is better having that Simoniz stuff then nothing.

I'm totally un-enamoured of anything that implies it's almost an extra clearcoat, and will last coon's age. I use a quality liquid wax (well it must be, it's close to $30 a bottle up here :)), apply it fall and spring.

You can do/beleive as you please of course, but I tell you that detailer applied Optimum Opti-Coat Pro (it is only sold to authorized detailers and must be applied by the,) will last a minimum 5 years on the paint/clearcoat. I have this applied on my current 2016 XC90 AWD First Edition. It's only been 6 1/2 months but it beads like the day it was applied and this is on black parked daily in the sun.

I have also used their consumer version, which has changed names now, but then it was called Opti-Coat 2.0 It is now called Optimum Gloss-Coat. It was applied by me to my previous vehicle that my dad now owns and is still going strong and beading water after 1 year 10 months and that's with him going to automatic car washes once every 2 weeks.

The BIGGEST things with these sealants is proper application techniques for proper adhesion, especially a properly prepped surface void of any old waxes, silicons or oils.

Now, applied to glass and not paint, I agree that nothing is forever. Even Optimum's own glass specific product lasts up to 1 year. Rain-x much shorter and Aquapel more than Rain-X but still not over a year with that 'just applied' result.
